Artem Lobov: "Khabib is as big as he is in Russia because of Conor McGregor"
Tom Taylor - August 20, 2017
If Conor McGregor returns to MMA after his blockbuster boxing match with Floyd Mayweather Jr., one of the most interesting options for him would be a fight with undefeated Russian contender Khabib Nurmagomedov. In the opinion of McGregor’s training partner and friend, Russian-born Irishman Artem Lobov, there could be no better setting for this fight than the MMA-obsessed country of Russia.
One year ago today, Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz put on an unforgettable show (highlights)
Tom Taylor - August 20, 2017
Today, UFC superstar Conor McGregor is gearing up for a foray into the boxing world, as we’re now less than a week away from his headline dominating showdown with Floyd Mayweather. On this day last year, McGregor had his hands full with a very different challenge: a rematch with the only man he’s lost to in the UFC, Nate Diaz. McGregor and Diaz’s rematch headlined UFC 202, which went down inside the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. Unlike their first fight, which saw McGregor blow an early lead to succumb to a second-round rear-naked choke, this fight was as close as they come.
"More angry" Georges St-Pierre promises different fighting style in UFC return
Tom Taylor - August 20, 2017
On November 4, in the main event of UFC 217, former UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre will make his anticipated return to the cage for a battle with reigning UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping. St-Pierre, of course, is one of the best to ever do it. That said, he has always received his fair share of criticism. One of the biggest criticisms levied against St-Pierre during the height of his reign as welterweight king was that he rarely finished his fights. In fact, the last seven of St-Pierre’s wins all came by way of decision.
Michael Chandler issues challenge to Rory MacDonald, MacDonald replies
Tom Taylor - August 20, 2017
Earlier this weekend, former UFC welterweight title challenger Rory MacDonald began to express his frustration with Bellator’s failure to keep him active. Speaking out on social media, the Canadian star claimed that he hoped to fight again this year, but that the promotion couldn’t make it happen, and that he was getting impatient. unfortunately no 4 this year, i was pushing very hard 2 fight atleast once more this year but it doesnt look like it will happen
Rory MacDonald is getting impatient with Bellator
Tom Taylor - August 20, 2017
Rory MacDonald is arguably the highest-profile free agent that Bellator MMA has picked up to date. Unfortunately, the former UFC welterweight title challenger is getting a little frustrated with his new employer. Though MacDonald initially seemed very excited with the way Bellator operates, he has since begun to criticize the promotion in the same way several other fighters have in the past. He feels they’re not keeping him active enough.
Coach John Kavanagh teases that Conor McGregor might submit Floyd Mayweather
Tom Taylor - August 20, 2017
On August 26 – now less than a week away – UFC lightweight champ and verifiable MMA superstar Conor McGregor will step into the boxing ring to battle undefeated boxing legend Floyd Mayweather Jr. Given that McGregor has never boxed professionally, he is being given little chance of success against the 49-0 defensive specialist Mayweather. Most pundits expect him to lose. The interesting thing is that McGregor would probably defeat Mayweather inside a minute if he were allowed to use his MMA arsenal – kicks, knees, elbows, takedowns, submissions, etc. Doing so, of course, would earn McGregor a massive lawsuit – perhaps as high as $90 million. Surprisingly, however, McGregor’s coach John Kavanagh recently teased that McGregor might rely on his grappling opposite the undefeated pugilist. Kavanagh made this surprising comment in a Saturday Instagram post, which showed McGregor locking up an armbar on friend and training partner Artem Lobov.

By this point, most fight fans know that UFC commentator Joe Rogan is not a man to be trifled with. As a Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt, and a a pretty striker too, Rogan is not just a good analyst but damn good martial artist. And as it turns out, Rogan’s efforts in the gym have rubbed off on his long-time broadcast partner Mike Goldberg.

AJ Agazarm Gets Object Thrown at Him After Winning at Polaris 5
Justin Golightly - August 19, 2017
Something happened a couple of years ago; grappling got really exciting. To jiu jitsu nerds or people who sleep in their rash guards like pajamas, grappling has always been exciting, but a movement started happening that bridged the gap between the casual and hardcore fanbase. Polaris Professional was one of the tournaments — like Metamoris or the Eddie Bravo Invitational — boasting great production and altered rulesets to encourage more action that popped up and started drawing more attention to the sport. Then again, anytime AJ Agazarm is on your card, chances are you don’t need too much extra excitement. Controversy has always followed him and today’s Polaris 5 event was no different. Shane Mosley uses Mayweather Sr. to throw shade at Conor McGregor
Chris Taylor - August 19, 2017
Former three weight division boxing world champion “Sugar” Shane Mosley doesn’t believe that current UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor has a snowballs chance in hell of defeating Floyd Mayweather on August 26 in Las Vegas. Mosley believes that a better fight to make would be having “Mystic Mac” square off with Floyd’s father, Mayweather Sr, this way McGregor would have a 50/50 shot of winning.
Listen to the Sound of this Brutally Perfect Knee From ACB 67
Justin Golightly - August 19, 2017
If you’ve ever ventured out of the UFC comfort zone to watch Absolute Championship Berkut, then you already know that most of their events produce highlight reels or at the very least crazy moments that will make you yell at your laptop. If you aren’t familiar with ACB, then now is the perfect time, especially since there is a drought of UFC action until Conor McGregor finishes his boxing bout with Floyd Mayweather. At ACB 67 earlier today, Alexandr Shabliy knocked out Gleristone Santos with a knee that was so picture perfect, it deserves multiple angles. https://twitter.com/Denis26rt/status/898966890978127872

Chris Taylor - August 19, 2017

Mark Hunt Trashes 'Chicken Sh-t' Fabricio Werdum
Justin Golightly - August 19, 2017
Mark Hunt only has three modes: chill, no chill, and absolute destruction. Luckily, his last opponent Derrick “The Black Beast” Lewis, didn’t pop for any drugs. Before that, his last four opponents in a row have been fighters who violated the UFC’s anti-doping policies, so it’s easy to understand why Hunt has been more no chill than usual. However, this isn’t about doping. Cowardice isn’t against USADA regulations, but Hunt claims that Fabricio Werdum has tested positive for it. The Super Samoan has been wanting that rematch with Werdum, but supposedly he avoided him at all turns. The kicker? Werdum is scheduled to fight Lewis, the hype train that Hunt just derailed.

That news alone had fans and analysts worried. After all, “Bigfoot” has suffered seven knockout losses over the course of the last four years.
Sparring Partner Dashon Johnson Posts a Touching Message for Conor McGregor
Justin Golightly - August 19, 2017
Most of Conor McGregor’s camp for Floyd Mayweather has been surrounded by controversy. Between the infamous Paul Malignaggi footage, as well as other boxers coming out of the woodwork to insult McGregor, all Conor needed was multiple racist allegations from Mayweather. Meanwhile, the rest of the world endures a tense political climate and tragic events in Charlottesville, Virginia. A topic that Mayweather evaded when asked during his recent conference call with media. Through all of this, Dashon Johnson wanted to shed a little light through the dark clouds. The young MMA fighter and boxer has been sparring with McGregor his whole camp and had a lot to say as training begins to conclude.
Nate Diaz Defends McGregor Against Boxing's 'One-Dimensional' Clowns
Justin Golightly - August 19, 2017
As soon as Nate Diaz was announced to fight Conor McGregor back at UFC 196, we all knew it was going to be something special. It was the first time McGregor’s trash talk would bounce off of someone. There wouldn’t be any getting in Diaz’s head, he would only shrug, curse and go on a rant about the type of ninjutsu he was going to do. It would be the start of a rivalry between the Stockton soldier and that loud-mouthed Irish yakuza that would make the UFC a lot of money, as well as generate respect between both fighters. A respect that has seemed to last, considering Nate Diaz just recently had a whole lot to stay about boxers and their criticisms of McGregor to TMZ. “Now all the boxers are criticizing Conor like ‘Conor will get embarrassed’, but that’s a real arrogant thing to say. Wanna’ know something that’s even more embarrassing? If Floyd fought Conor in an MMA match, it would be more embarrassing than if Conor fought Floyd in a boxing match. [Floyd] would get mounted and laughed at, and slapped around [and Conor] would smile at the crowd and wave.”
