Finally set to make her long-awaited UFC debut is the former Invicta FC featherweight champion, Megan Anderson. Anderson will be making her debut at UFC 225 on June 9th when she takes on former UFC bantamweight champion, Holly Holm. Since the UFC’s inception of the women’s 145-pound featherweight division in February 2017, they have essentially had just a two-person roster if you only count fighters that have never fought below 140 pounds. Those two being Anderson and the reigning champion, Cris Cyborg.

Under the MMA Microscope | Is the UFC hyping the wrong fighters?
Drake Riggs - May 11, 2018
In the current UFC era, it’s been made loud and clear what the new ownership’s motives are: get rich or die tryin’. Well…maybe not to that extreme of a level but 50 Cent has been getting involved with the MMA scene lately(whatever that means) so don’t tell me that that’s not a good quote choice. Everybody loves a good hype train. Especially when it is natural, warranted and deserved. What don’t people love? A forced hype train. Thus begging the question, has the UFC been putting hype behind the wrong fighters?

Tom Taylor - May 11, 2018
On May 27, in the main event of the UFC’s debut in Liverpool, England, Darren Till will take on two-time welterweight title challenger Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson in a bout that is far and away the biggest test of his career thus far. If Till topples this momentous challenge, he expects to become one of the most sought-after fighters in the stacked UFC welterweight division. In fact, he expects to become the division’s so-called “money fight,” which means divisional king Tyron Woodley will be banging on his door, and not the other way around. To Till, that implies a welterweight title fight inside Liverpool’s famous Anfield stadium.
Eddie Alvarez roasts Khabib Nurmagomedov: People are literally sleeping during Khabib time
Tom Taylor - May 11, 2018
Former UFC lightweight champ Eddie Alvarez, who is now set to rematch Dustin Poirier in the main event of the UFC’s July 28 return to Calgary, Alberta, Canada, is hoping that a big win will position him for a title shot opposite reigning lightweight champ Khabib Nurmagomedov. That being said, Alvarez doesn’t seem to be particularly impressed by Nurmagomedov. In fact, he seems to find him boring. During a Thursday night Instagram live session, in which he also admitted he’s not excited about his rematch with Poirier, Alvarez gave his take on Nurmagomedov. Apparently, “Khabib time” is synonymous with bedtime in his household.
Amanda Bobby Cooper reacts to opponent Mackenzie Dern's seven pound weigh-in miss
Tom Taylor - May 11, 2018
If you’ve been paying attention to the MMA headlines this morning, you’ve surely seen that Mackenzie Dern missed weight for her UFC 224 scrap with Amanda Bobby Cooper. Dern, who has missed weight for multiple other bouts in the past, tipped the scales at 123 pounds, a whopping seven pounds above the strawweight division’s 116-pound limit. While nobody could have faulted Cooper if she turned this bout with Dern down, she ultimately elected to accept the fight at a catchweight, and will receive a hefty chunk of Dern’s purse as a result. While Cooper will get a boosted payday for this fight, however, she’s certainly not impressed with her opponent’s lack of professionalism. In fact, she considers Dern’s latest weigh-in blunder “a disgrace.”

From what I hear, GSP doesn’t want that Nate Diaz fight. For him to make 155 [pounds], which him and Nate Diaz would fight at in Los Angeles, it’s too much of a cut.
Dana White on Leslie Smith's labor complaint against the UFC: "That's not my problem"
Tom Taylor - May 10, 2018
If things had gone according to the initial plan, Leslie Smith would have fought Aspen Ladd on the undercard of April’s UFC Atlantic City card. Regrettably, things took an incredibly ugly turn at the last minute, and the end result was Smith’s release from the UFC. The trouble began when Ladd missed weight for the fight, tipping the scales 1.8 pounds over the bantamweight limit. Despite this hiccup, Smith was willing to take the fight, but she wanted to hash out a new deal with the UFC first, as her bout with Ladd marked the last obligation on her current contract. Unfortunately, the UFC instead opted to buy out Smith’s contract, paying the bantamweight her show and win money, and ending her UFC career on the spot…
