Jon Jones returns fire at "extraordinary liar" Colby Covington
Tom Taylor - September 7, 2018
UFC interim welterweight champion Colby Covington — who will quietly be stripped of his title when Tyron Woodley and Darren Till battle for the welterweight title at UFC 228 this weekend — has had plenty to say about his former college roommate Jon Jones in the recent past. Speaking in a recent interview with RTSport, Jon Jones had the chance to launch some return fire. Jon Jones’ main gripe with Colby Covington, he says, is the way he bends the truth. In that way, Jones feels Covington is quite similar to Chael Sonnen.
Holly Holm undergoing knee surgery, hopes for fight with Amanda Nunes in 2019
Drake Riggs - September 7, 2018
When it comes to big-name MMA stars amongst the female fighters, few are as big as the former bantamweight queen Holly Holm. Of course, outside of her legendary status as a professional boxer, Holm was the very first woman to ever defeat Ronda Rousey in MMA. And she did so in incredibly one-sided fashion for a stunning upset.

The UFC’s first pair of fighting sisters in the organization’s history is officially the Shevchenko’s. And with their incredible Muay Thai backgrounds, success is more than expected.
Nicco Montano tired of misconceptions, says TUF coaches 'wanted me to put on a costume'
Drake Riggs - September 6, 2018
The life of a champion isn’t always the easiest. And for some, it can actually be a bit more stressful or annoying than it can be for others. A prime example of this would be the UFC’s first and current women’s flyweight champion Nicco Montano.
EXCLUSIVE | Coach Javier Mendez breaks down Luke Rockhold vs. Chris Weidman rematch
Tom Taylor - September 6, 2018
In December of 2015, in the co-main event of UFC 194, Luke Rockhold stepped into the cage with Chris Weidman in hopes of capturing the UFC middleweight title. On that night, Rockhold succeeded on his mission, defeating Weidman by fourth round TKO. On November 3 of this year, on the main card of UFC 230 in New York City, Luke Rockhold and Chris Weidman will fight again. This time around, there will be no title on the line, but the winner will be within sprinting distance of a middleweight title shot.

EXCLUSIVE | Leonard Garcia spills on Cowboy-JacksonWink drama
Tom Taylor - September 6, 2018
By now you’ve surely heard that UFC welterweight contender Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone has parted ways with his former gym, JacksonWink MMA. Cerrone announced his departure from the gym — which has been anything but amicable — on a recent episode of the Joe Rogan Experience MMA Show. He cited a growing distaste for JacksonWink coach Mike Winkeljohn and the gym’s choice to train his upcoming opponent Mike Perry as reasons. Speaking on the latest episode of BJPENN.COM Radio, long-time JacksonWink fighter Leonard Garcia, who also happens to be a close friend of Donald Cerrone, gave his take on this very public falling out.
Rafael dos Anjos makes predictions for UFC 228 and UFC 229 main events
Tom Taylor - September 6, 2018
This Saturday night, in the main event of UFC 228, UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley will attempt to defend his title opposite undefeated British challenger Darren Till. Rafael dos Anjos, who is one of the top contenders in the crowded UFC welterweight division, will be watching this fight closely. For Rafael dos Anjos, the outcome of this fight could come down to whether or not Till makes weight. This is something Till has struggled with before, and the reason dos Anjos doesn’t think he deserves a title shot. At the end of the day, however, he believes Woodley will probably retain the title.

Paul Felder still wants James Vick after losing out on initial UFC Boise fight
Drake Riggs - September 5, 2018
It’s been a rough 2018 for Paul Felder when he hasn’t been enjoying his time at the commentary table to help educate the fans. “The Irish Dragon” was supposed to have his first fight of the year at UFC 223 in April when he was set to take on Al Iaquinta. However, thanks to the craziness that was UFC 223, Iaquinta would end up bailing on Felder to fill in for Max Holloway to take on Khabib Nurmagomedov in the night’s main event. Not exactly the worst of choices that one could make.

One of the latest verbal volleys came from Jon Jones, who claimed that his 2017 knockout of Cormier was the result of strategy and timing, not the result of steroid use.

Over the last few weeks, former UFC lightweight and featherweight champion Conor McGregor has been firing his patented trash talk in the direction of his UFC 229 opponent, UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov. Coach says Rose Namajunas is still traumatized by McGregor bus attack: "She doesn't leave her house"
Tom Taylor - September 5, 2018
Back in April, in the buildup to UFC 223, former UFC lightweight and featherweight champion Conor McGregor mounted a crazed attack on a shuttle bus carrying his arch rival Khabib Nurmagomedov, throwing a dolly through the bus’s window. While McGregor was allegedly after Nurmagomedov, however, he wound up injuring UFC 223 fighters Michael Chiesa and Ray Borg and, from the sounds of it, traumatizing UFC strawweight champion “Thug” Rose Namajunas. Speaking on Ariel Helwani’s MMA Show this week, Rose Namajunas’ coach Trevor Wittman claimed that the strawweight champion is still dealing with the emotional trauma stemming from McGregor rampage, and that this lingering trauma has made it difficult for her to leave home.
Diego Sanchez still hoping for UFC title win: "It's my time"
Tom Taylor - September 5, 2018
Diego Sanchez is currently on a two-fight losing streak, having been knocked out by Matt Brown and Al Iaquinta in his last two bouts. Don’t think for a second that means he’s nearing the end of the road, however. As Diego Sanchez gears up for his UFC 228 showdown with England’s Craig White, he feels like he’s in the prime of his fighting life. He also feels that a long-awaited UFC title win could be just around the corner.
Free agent Sage Northcutt interested in leaving UFC to make "double if not triple" his current income
Tom Taylor - September 5, 2018
Sage Northcutt is a free agent. That means that the long-time UFC fighter can now field offers from other promotions, and if he receives an offer he likes, he can sign on the dotted line. While Northcutt is hopeful he’ll re-sign with the UFC, he’s not opposed to moving to Bellator MMA if the promotion makes him the right offer. He’s seen fighters like Rory MacDonald and Lyoto Machida move their recently, so he knows things are obviously quite good for those employed by the Viacom-owned MMA promotion.
