UFC star Conor McGregor has responded to the challenge issued by UFC featherweight champion Ilia Topuria.

Ilia Topuria, Conor McGregor

On Saturday night, Ilia Topuria knocked out Alexander Volkanovski to become the new king at 145 pounds. It serves as the ultimate vindication after years of him proclaiming that he’d reach this point, and now, he’s ready for the superstardom that comes alongside such a position.

When he had the microphone in the cage, Ilia made it known who he wants to battle next – Conor McGregor in Spain.

“…and Conor McGregor – if you still have some balls, I will be waiting for you in Spain.”

As you can imagine, McGregor replied in a way that only he could.

McGregor’s classic comedy

“I have huge balls, I’ve 4 kids.”

Regardless of whether or not you like Conor, there’s no denying the interest he draws to the sport of mixed martial arts. He’s the biggest star we’ve ever seen in the sport and in addition to that, he’s been called out by a parade of fighters on the roster in the last couple of years. Of course, when you take a look at the difference in weight between these two men, it seems unlikely that we’ll get this collision anytime soon.

As for Topuria, he has the world at his feet. The popular opinion is that he will, in fact, have to defend his belt against Volkanovski in an immediate rematch, but this game is more unpredictable than ever.
