VIDEO | Michael Jackson’s son Prince Jackson talks briefly about training jiu-jitsu

By Russell Ess - May 31, 2016

19-year-old Michael Joseph Jackson Jr., also known as Prince Jackson is the son of pop legend Michael Jackson. Prince is the oldest child of the legendary entertainer and has been training Brazilian jiu-jitsu under Ryron and Rener Gracie for a few years now.

Prince received his blue belt back in 2013 and is still climbing the belt ranking system. However, when asked if he had any desire to reach the rank of black belt, Prince used a famous quote from Royce Gracie saying, “A black belt only covers two inches of your ass. You have to cover the rest.”

Prince says that he is simply interested in learning the art of Brazilian jiu-jitsu, which is very respectable.

Rener Gracie has said (via bjjee.com) that Prince has the qualities they look for in a student.

“Prince is a great student. He is one of our best. He”s extremely dedicated and very attentive to detail. He is already in the class of adults and is very friendly with all colleagues. He expressed no desire to fight MMA, for example, but has many of the qualities we look for in a student of jiu-jitsu.”
