Though discussions surrounding her fighting future were common, she rarely appeared in public or partook in any interactions with the press.

Just last week, Triple H sat down on ESPN and talked about former UFC bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey. He said that he and Rousey were in talks and that the door was always open for her to come wrestle in the WWE. That led us to believe that Rousey was close to stepping inside those ropes and doing a little more than just hip tossing someone, but we had no idea how close it actually was. Just yesterday, Ronda Rousey was featured in an official WWE video being confronted by Charlotte Flair, Bayley and Becky Lynch. Ronda Rousey can do anything. Despite her two-fight losing streak in the UFC, Rousey has the star power to jump into any other sport, or come back to the Octagon anytime she wants. With movies and television also an open door for Rousey, it’s the wrestling ring that seems to lure her the most. Her entire namesake is based on  the late “Rowdy” Roddy Piper and she’s recently been seen on WWE TV, cheering on her friend Shayna Baszler in the promotion’s all-female Mae Young Classic tournament. Rumors buzzed about Rousey and the WWE, but nothing concrete was ever released. Now, Triple H just gave us a hint that it may be close. “First of all, [Ronda Rousey]’s got to stop throwing me around the ring. The last time I was in the ring with her, Ronda threw threw me from one side to the other. I didn’t like that very much. Ronda is a huge fan. That’s not been a secret, that’s where the ‘Rowdy’ Ronda comes from. She’s definitely interested and we’re having conversations. I’ll say it right here on ESPN, if she wants the opportunity [to wrestle for the WWE] I’d be willing to give it to her.”

The MMA power couple of Ronda Rousey and Travis Browne have made it official and are now man and wife. Rousey and Browne announced their engagement back in April and they tied the knot on Saturday, which was on the same day as the historic fight between Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor. UFC President Dana White was invited to the wedding but was slightly busy with his work schedule for what was expected by many to be the richest fight in the history of combat sports.

While former UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey may not have given any indications as to whether or not she will officially retire any time soon, the MMA community has continued to speculate as to whether the former champ would return to the Octagon or not. After suffering the first defeat of her professional career at UFC 193, Rousey returned to the Octagon in the main event of UFC 207, where she dropped a 1st round TKO to Amanda Nunes in a failed bid at recapturing her title.

Former UFC women’s bantamweight champion and transcendent MMA superstar Ronda Rousey has not been seen in action since she was bludgeoned to a first-round TKO loss by reigning champ Amanda Nunes in December. This layoff was preceded by an even longer one, as the former champ spent more than a year on the shelf after her next most recent fight, a shocking, head-kick knockout loss to Holly Holm. While we have seen Rousey return from long layoffs before, it seems unlikely that she’ll return from this latest hiatus. Speaking to ESPN on Monday, UFC President Dana White assured that Rousey is probably done fighting.

The once dominant fighter did not respond well to this match of adversity, disappearing from the MMA limelight for well over a year. Ultimately, of course, Rousey did march back to the cage, where she attempted to reclaim the women’s bantamweight crown from new champion Amanda Nunes. Regrettably for Rousey and her throngs of fans, this comeback fight went even worse than her bout with Holm, as she was knocked out by Nunes in less than a minute.

While Rousey hoped to return to the win column and reclaim the bantamweight title from Nunes at UFC 207, it took just 46 seconds for Nunes to TKO Rousey and retain the bantamweight title.
