Thomas Taylor - April 9, 2019

It’s not a substance you find in contaminated supplements, it’s injectable only. You have to know what you’re doing when it enters your system.

Urijah Faber, Sage Northcutt’s coach at Team Alpha Male in Sacramento, California, is hoping it doesn’t come to that. He says he’s personally spoken to the UFC and encouraged them to open their check books to keep the young fighter on the payroll.

Tom Taylor - September 13, 2018

Next month, former UFC bantamweight title challenger Urijah Faber will step onto the mat to compete in Quintet 3, an epic grappling event also featuring Kazushi Sakuraba, Josh Barnett and a number of other stars. While events like this help Faber satisfy his competitive streak after his retirement from MMA, however, he says it’s possible that he’ll strap the four ounce gloves on again in the future. “Could I do some more fights? Absolutely,” the 39-year-old Urijah Faber told reporters at a recent media event promoting the Quintet 3 card (via MMAjunkie). “Could I do years of more fights? Absolutely. Would I maybe do some fights? Very possible. But right now, I’m enjoying having my brain and having a good time.”

Drake Riggs - September 11, 2018

UFC 227 took place just over a month ago and it left us with some great memories. Of course, for multiple fighters involved they’re forgettable memories. Not necessarily however as all losses are learning experiences and surely that’s what the former bantamweight champion Cody Garbrandt will do with them after his loss at the event.

Tom Taylor - June 19, 2018

On Saturday night — Saturday morning stateside — the UFC will return to beautiful Singapore with an exciting fight card. As always, the promotion has brought a handful of stars along with it to help promote the fights and participate in meet and greets and various other events with the fans. One of those fighters is former WEC champ and MMA pioneer Urijah Faber. Regrettably, Faber’s visit to Singapore is off to a rocky start. Not long after arriving in the country, he got hit by what he’s calling “the only car on the road.” From the looks of it, he escaped with little more than a foot injury, but still… not how you want to start a trip abroad.

Tom Taylor - February 12, 2018

One of the most talked about fights in MMA at present is a possible flyweight superfight between divisional king Demetrious “Mighty Mouse” Johnson, and reigning UFC bantamweight champion TJ Dillashaw. As the former mentor of the bantamweight champ TJ Dillashaw, the probably-retired Urijah Faber is watching on intently as this possible scrap edges toward fruition. While Faber is a little more interested in Dillashaw’s options at bantamweight, he does believe Dillashaw can make the flyweight division’s 125-pound.

Don't rule out a Urijah Faber comeback fight just yet

Tom Taylor - February 12, 2018

It’s now been a little over a year since Urijah Faber’s retirement fight: a unanimous decision win over fellow veteran Brad Pickett. Yet while Faber is still enjoying his retirement, he’s never actually exited the USADA testing pool, which means the door to a comeback fight remains decidedly open. All it’d take is the right opportunity. Faber discussed his decision to remain in the USADA testing pool in a discussion with Submission Radio during a visit to Perth, Australia for UFC 221.

Russell Ess - December 22, 2017

“Ask nicely motherf**kers. Ask nicely. I’m talking about the organization, the fighters. And make it a big deal, because I’m not trying to just sign a contract just cause it’s a good idea for you guys.” Those are the words from Nate Diaz speaking with the Outside The Box podcast on getting called out by fighters and from the UFC who have been trying to get him into the Octagon for a classic Diaz scrap. Nate stated that at this point in his career, he doesn’t need to fight anyone but is willing to fight any opponent if it makes sense.

Urijah Faber suggests he'd possibly make comeback for TJ Dillashaw fight

Tom Taylor - November 6, 2017

Last December, after a fun win over fellow MMA veteran Brad Pickett, Urijah Faber retired from the sport. Since then, he has repeatedly suggested he’s comfortable in his retirement, and that he has no urge to return. “I absolutely am in tact with my mind and body, and I feel better than ever, having rested over half a year now under my belt,” Faber told MMAJunkie Radio back in October. “I’m staying busy, man. I’ve got a lot going on. I love a good fight, and I love a good story. As far as just wanting to jump in for the heck of it, there’s no temptation there.”

Urijah Faber Defends 'Gentleman' UFC Commentator Snoop Dogg

Justin Golightly - September 15, 2017

There were mixed feelings when Snoop Dogg got a job commentating for the UFC. He was given his own ‘Snoop Cast’ audio option, along with Urijah Faber, for Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series. The business decision was made even more polarizing, after Snoop went off on Conor McGregor after his loss to Floyd Mayweather. There was some backlash, but Faber appeared on Submission Radio to defendizzle his broadcast partner, fah shizzle. “Man, I thought [Snoop Dogg] did amazing. The funny thing is, you know, what you get with Snoop is just a guy that’s being extremely real and passionate. It was cool. It was just a different type of eyeball on the fights. He’s a guy that’s just saying exactly what he sees. If a guy is laying on his back, he’s not thinking, ‘oh, is he going to go for a knee bar?,’ he’s thinking, ‘why is the guy laying on his back?'”
