MMA veteran Urijah Faber may currently be retired from MMA, however the former top ranked bantamweight revealed recently that he will be competing once again, however it won’t be in MMA. Faber dropped 2 straight fights in 2016, the first being a trilogy fight with Dominick Cruz at UFC 199, where he dropped a unanimous decision in the highly anticipated grudge match. He then dropped a 2nd loss via unanimous decision to Jimmie Rivera at UFC 203. Following the fight, Faber announced that he would be fighting once more in his retirement fight. Faber then fought in his hometown of Sacramento on the main card of ‘UFC Fight Night: Sacramento’, where he picked up a unanimous decision win over Brad Pickett.

It’s no secret that former UFC bantamweight champion TJ Dillashaw’s split with Team Alpha Male was a very bitter one. After Dillashaw left TAM to join Elevation Fight Team in Colorado, Urijah Faber banned his former pupil from the gym in the midst of insinuations that Dillashaw was using PEDs during his time on the team. While the pair never stepped into the Octagon against one another, Dillashaw will be facing off with Team Alpha Male’s very own Cody Garbrandt after the pair coach on the upcoming season of The Ultimate Fighter.

The win was certainly a dominant one for Faber, as he dropped Pickett in the very first round, then proceeding to win the next two rounds decisively en route to a unanimous decision win in his final MMA fight. With the win, Faber’s professional MMA record advanced to 34-10 over the course of thirteen years of fighting professionally.

The former World Extreme Cagefighting featherweight champ partook in the final fight of his career on the main card of Saturday’s UFC on Fox 22, where he defeated England’s Brad Pickett by unanimous decision. Though Faber has plenty on the go with which to support himself in his post-fighting life, he was compensated quite well for the final fight of his career. He will not go hungry any time soon, having earned more than any other fighter on the UFC on Fox 22 bill with a payday of $320,000.
