Former UFC lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos claims he has already accepted a fight with perennial welterweight contender Santiago Ponzinibbio.

“RDA” took to Twitter where he blasted “Ponz” with the following message for insinuating that he was a chicken.

“Ask someone who has two more neurons than you to explain that I’ve already accepted the fight your dirty arse.” – Rafael dos Anjos

Dos Anjos was last seen in action this past November, where he suffered a lopsided unanimous decision loss to Kamaru Usman.

The setback marked the Brazilian’s second in a row, as he had previously lost to Colby Covington via unanimous decision at UFC 225 in a fight for the promotions interim welterweight title.

Prior to his recent skid, Rafael dos Anjos had put together a three-fight win streak in the UFC’s stacked 170-pound division which included wins over Neil Magny, Tarec Saffiedine, and former division champion Robbie Lawler.

Meanwhile, Santiago Ponzinbiio (27-3 MMA) is currently riding a seven-fight win streak. In his most recent effort at UFC Argentina, Ponzinibbio scored a fourth-round knockout over perennial division contender Neil Magny.

Prior to that Ponzinibbio was coming off a thrilling victory over Mike Perry at UFC on FOX in Winnipeg.

The Argentinian’s most recent setback came way back in June of 2015, where he suffered a second-round TKO loss to dangerous striker Lorenz Larkin.

Ponzinibbio had been offered a fight with former two-time division challenger Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson by the promotion, which was actually slated to take place this month but Santiago ultimately opted to decline the proposed matchup.

It appears that surging welterweight contender has his eyes set on a fight with the promotions former lightweight kingpin instead.
