Belal Muhammad, Sean Strickland reignite personal feud in wild social media back-and-forth

There remains no love between former UFC welterweight champion Belal Muhammad and current middleweight titleholder Sean Strickland.

Sean Strickland and Belal Muhammad are two of the UFC’s most polarizing athletes, although their careers have gone down different paths in recent months.

Muhammad, a former UFC welterweight champion, hasn’t won since defeating Leon Edwards for the welterweight belt at UFC 304. Just months later, at UFC 315, Muhammad lost to Jack Della Maddalena by decision in his first UFC title defense.

Muhammad has since lost fights to Gabriel Bonfim and Ian Machado Garry in his bid to get back into the title mix.

Strickland reclaimed the UFC middleweight title by defeating Khamzat Chimaev earlier this year, and he hasn’t slowed down in making headlines for controversial reasons in recent months. Muhammad and Strickland have had beef for years, stemming from their brief time training together under Xtreme Couture’s Eric Nicksick in Las Vegas.

As Muhammad preps for his latest comeback attempt, Strickland mocked Muhammad’s YouTube presence and took a personal shot at his long-standing adversary.

In a pair of recent tweets, Strickland reignited his long-term feud with the former welterweight champion Muhammad.

“‘Just came to laugh at the 3k views on this post,” Strickland said. “Crazy people don’t want to watch you fight or talk…”

“9k views, let’s goooooo!!!! He’s gonna be able to afford a ticket to Palestine soon.”

It didn’t take long for Muhammad to issue a scathing response aimed at Strickland’s past.

“Did u swallow 9k of your brothers and sisters when your dad…” Muhammad responded to Strickland.

As of this writing, Strickland hasn’t responded to Muhammad’s social media jab.

Strickland is planning to return to the Octagon as soon as December in his first middleweight title defense. A rematch with Chimaev is possible, along with a clash with surging contender Nassourdine Imavov.
