UFC Perth: ‘Della Maddalena vs. Prates’ Live Results and Highlights

The Octagon returns to Australia for today’s UFC Perth event, a 13-bout fight card headlined by Jack Della Maddalena vs. Carlos Prates.
Della Maddalena (16-3 MMA) will be returning to action for the first time since losing the promotion‘s welterweight title to Islam Makhachev at UFC 322 in November of last year. Prior to that setback, ‘JDM’ had put together an eighteen-fight winning streak, which included victories over Belal Muhammad, Gilbert Burns and Kevin Holland.
Meanwhile, Carlos Prates (23-7 MMA) most previously took to the Octagon at UFC 322 in Madison Square Garden, where he scored a second-round knockout victory over former title holder Leon Edwards (see that here). ‘The Nightmare’ has gone 4-1 over his past five fights, earning all four wins by way of knockout and having his lone loss come against Ian Machado Garry via decision.
UFC Perth is co-headlined by a lightweight matchup featuring Beneil Dariush taking on Quillan Salkilld.

Dariush (23-7-1 MMA) will enter the contest looking to rebound, this after suffering a brutal 16-second knockout loss to Benoit Saint Denis in his most recent Octagon appearance at UFC 322 this past November (see that here). Prior to that setback, the 36-year-old veteran was coming off a decision win over Renato Moicano.
Meanwhile, Quillan Salkilld (11-1 MMA) is currently riding an eleven-fight win streak, with his most recent triumph being a submission victory over Jamie Mullarkey this past January at UFC 325. The Perth native has won three of his past five fights by way of stoppage.
Also featured on today’s UFC Perth main card lineup is a highly anticipated men’s flyweight bout between Tim Elliott and Steve Erceg.
Elliott (21-13-1 MMA) will enter the contest on a two-fight winning streak, this after earning back-to-back submission victories over Su Mudaerji and Kai Asakura in his most previous Octagon appearances. The former flyweight title challenger has gone 4-1 over his past five fights overall.
Meanwhile, Steve Erceg (13-4 MMA) most previously competed this past August, where he scored a unanimous decision victory over Ode’ Osbourne. That win snapped a three-fight losing skid for ‘Astro Boy’, who had previously suffered losses to Alexandre Pantoja, Kai Kara-France and Brandon Moreno respectively.
If that wasn’t enough to get you interested, today’s UFC Perth main card lineup is being kicked off by a heavyweight bout between Tai Tuivasa and Louie Sutherland.
Tuivasa (14-9 MMA) will be looking to snap a six-fight losing skid when he takes to the Octagon this afternoon in Perth. The fan favorite, known as ‘Bam Bam’, is coming off a loss to Tallison Teixeira in his most previous effort.
Meanwhile, Louie Sutherland (10-5 MMA) will also enter today’s contest looking to rebound, this after suffering stoppage losses to Valter Walker and Brando Pericic in his latest appearances. The ‘Vanilla Gorilla’ has scored eight of his ten professional wins by way of KO/TKO.
