Conor McGregor addresses reports he took PEDs during time off due to injury

Conor McGregor was accused of taking PEDs while he was recovering from the broken leg he sustained in the trilogy match against Dustin Poirier.
McGregor took his name out of the USADA testing pool, which many fans thought was interesting. Now, ahead of his return to the Octagon at UFC 329 on July 11, The New York Times reported that McGregor took performance-enhancing drugs, which were supported by his surgeon, Dr. Neal ElAttrache, throughout his leg treatment. ElAttrache is the Los Angeles Dodgers and Los Angeles Rams physician and is regarded as one of the best sports doctors in the world.
However, ElAttrache prescribing performance-enhancing drugs caught many by surprise, and McGregor wasn’t going to get into any of it.
“Shocking. A man’s private medical (records). The most devastating injury you’ll see in combat sports,” McGregor said. “The whole thing is strange to me. You have an injury like that, you’re not going to walk again. The objective should be to get that athlete, who has given his livelhood for the entertianment of the people, it should be get this man back on his feet.”
Conor McGregor just wanted to get healthy
McGregor said he didn’t know what he was taking, as he was just following his doctor’s advice.
“If a doctor is prescribing certain medications to help you come back. Otherwise you’re not going to walk again,” McGregor said. “There’s like a 20 percent chance that leg doesn’t join together again. It’s called a non-union, where the bone doesn’t heal. That’s what’s at stake here. …
“Whatever, I took myself out of the pool, listened to my doctors, and didn’t ask questions. I don’t need to know, and I don’t want to know. All I want to know is what’s going to get me back on my fucking feet and able to play with my children in a normal capacity again. That was it.”
As Conor McGregor said, his entire focus was getting healthy and being able to walk and play with his children. Not on whether the drugs were legal to USADA.
McGregor also said that all his clean tests since re-entering the pool prove he’s not on anything and wouldn’t be on anything.
