Stephen ‘Wonderboy’ Thompson reacts to news of title fight

While Stephen ‘Wonderboy’ Thompson may be the welterweight #1 contender, there was much uncertainty as to whether or not he would get the next welterweight title shot.

After Tyron Woodley knocked out Robbie Lawler in the main event of UFC 201 at the end of last month, the newly crowned champ shut down Thompson on the Fox Sports 1 post-fight show, calling out Georges St-Pierre and Nick Diaz instead.

While there was briefly talk of a Woodley vs. St-Pierre fight, UFC President Dana White announced this week that Thompson would be getting the next welterweight title shot.
