Robbie Lawler sick of ‘Fight of the Year’ fights

UFC welterweight champion Robbie Lawler has earned the reputation for being one of the most exciting fighters on the UFC roster.

In his past 6 fights, two have been ‘Fight of the Year’ winners, and 4 have won ‘Fight of the Night’. The only two of Lawler’s past 6 fights to not win an award were his TKO isn over Jake Ellenberger, and his split decision win over Johny Hendricks in which he won the welterweight championship. In addition, Lawler’s last 7 fights have all either been decisions, or ended in the final round of the fight.

Ahead of Lawler’s UFC 201 title defense against Tyrone Woodley, Lawler is sick of wars inside the Octagon, and is looking for a quick finish against Woodley.

He spoke during a UFC 201 media scrum. MMAJunkie has the transcription:

“I’m sick of ‘Fight of the Years.’ That’s what my game’s all about: trying to get in there and get a finish.”

Do you think he will be able to finish Woodley?
