The inaugural UFC women’s strawweight champion, Carla Esparza (11-3 MMA), will return to the octagon next month when she fills in for the injured Jessica Aguilar against Julianna Lima (8-2 MMA). The bout will mark Esparza’s first fight since losing her title to Joanna Jedrzejczyk via TKO at UFC 185 in March of 2015.

Update: Jon Jones is still in jail, hearing set for tomorrow morning

We reported yesterday morning that former UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones had turned himself in to the Albuquerque PD, this after he received five traffic citations that had violated his parole sentence. According to new reports from both Ariel Helwani and Marc Raimondi, “Bones” is still in jail and has a hearing in front of a judge scheduled for 8am tomorrow morning (March 31).

Cris Cyborg eyes superfight with Ronda Rousey after UFC debut

The TUF veterans were originally scheduled to fight back at UFC 180, but injuries suffered by both Lauzon and Sanchez caused the bout to be thrown out.

Yesterday UFC pound for pound kingpin Jon Jones revealed that he had been given 5 tickets. Among them were tickets for drag racing, and an illegal modification to his car’s exhaust. Jones was scheduled to appear in court on April 5th, just over two weeks before his UFC 197 title fight against Daniel Cormier. While many wondered if Jones had violated his parole by receiving the 5 tickets, and how they would impact his UFC 197 title fight, TMZ has now confirmed that Jones has turned himself in to the Albuquerque PD at 10am today, and is being held in the county jail.

Yesterday it was announced that longtime Invicta FC champion Cris Cyborg would be making her long awaited UFC debut at UFC 198 in her hometown of Curitiba Brazil. Cyborg will face Leslie Smith on the already stacked card, which features a heavyweight championship scrap between Fabricio Werdum and Stipe Miocic in the main event. While many were thrilled that Cyborg will be making her UFC debut, some were very critical of the fact that she would be debuting against 8-6 Leslie Smith. Interestingly enough however, UFC President Dana White says that Smith was the only fighter who was willing to fight Cyborg.

CM Punk gives update on back injury, UFC debut

After Mickey Gall won his UFC Fight Night 82 scrap against Mike Jackson, it was announced that Jackson would fight CM Punk in Punk’s UFC debut at UFC 200. Shortly after that, Punk announced that he had injured his back and would no longer be able to compete at UFC 200. While so far there has been no update on how soon Punk would be able to return to the Octagon, Punk assured his fans that he would be making his UFC debut sometime soon.
