Report: Dan Henderson to be put on UFC 199 card

Dan Henderson was fully prepared and ready to fight Lyoto Machida this weekend at UFC on FOX 19. Unfortunately, “Hendo” learned on Wednesday that he would not be fighting at all. News broke that Machida declared the usage of a banned substance during an out-of-competition sample collection last week and would not be allowed to fight on Saturday.
Dominick Cruz blasts bantamweight division

Back in January, Dominick Cruz returned to the Octagon and defeated TJ Dillashaw to reclaim the UFC bantamweight championship. Immediately following his win over Dillashaw, Cruz found himself being called out by his nemesis, Urijah Faber. The UFC ultimately opted to book Cruz vs. Faber III for UFC 199 on June 4th in Inglewood California. Ahead of that fight things have been tense between Cruz and Faber during media appearances. During an interview with MMAJunkie, Cruz put the bantamweight division on blast for its lack of depth.
Mark Hunt signs 6-fight UFC contract

Fan favorite UFC heavyweight Mark ‘Super Samoan’ Hunt has signed a new 6-fight UFC contract. According to the 42 year old MMA veteran, the deal is worth millions, however according to Hunt it isn’t about the money. Hunt has bigger plans in mind.
Dada 5000: "I'm not a full-time fighter"

At Bellator 149, Kimbo Slice and Dada 5000 put on one of the least impressive fights in the history of MMA. The fight drew extreme amounts of criticism from not only fighters, but also fight fans. After the fight however, it was revealed that Dada 5000 had suffered from kidney failure during the fight, and that his heart had stopped twice.
UFC announces inaugural event in New York

It was only a matter of time before the UFC announced its first event in New York after MMA became legal in The Empire State. On Thursday, Governor Andrew Cuomo officially signed a bill legalizing MMA in New York, which subsequently lead the UFC to announce its inaugural event in New York at the Madison Square Garden.

More trouble struck the UFC on FOX 19 card on Wednesday as news broke that former UFC light heavyweight champion Lyoto Machida declared the usage of a banned substance during an out-of-competition sample collection last week. With the fight just days away, opponent Dan Henderson was already in Florida in preparation for the fight.

Earlier today we reported that Lyoto Machida had admitted to using a banned substance and was forced to withdraw from his scheduled bout with Dan Henderson at this weekend’s UFC on FOX event in Tampa, Florida. Shortly after news broke, UFC middleweight Tim Kennedy took to his Twitter to declare that he is ready and willing to step in and fight “Hendo” on short notice. His words:

Wednesday afternoon news broke that former UFC champion Lyoto Machida admitted to the usage of a banned substance during a random out-of-competition drug test administered by USADA. Machida was subsequently pulled from his upcoming rematch with Dan Henderson on Saturday at UFC on FOX 19, with Henderson being re-booked for a fight with a different opponent at a later date.

On Tuesday, news broke that UFC Hall of Fame legend BJ Penn will be making a return to the Octagon against Dennis Siver at UFC 199 on June 4th. The bout will take place at 145 pounds in the featherweight division at The Forum in Los Angeles. The UFC just posted a promotional photo of the Penn vs. Siver fight that was captioned, “The Prodigy is back! #UFC199 adds @bjpenn vs Dennis Siver! 👊🏽”
Daniel Cormier: 'I don't know how to beat Jon Jones'

Everyone including the current UFC light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier has not been able to crack the code on physically beating former champion Jon “Bones” Jones. Matt Hamill is the only one that has a win over Jones on record, but that came after Hamill was brutalized by elbows from Jones that were ruled illegal. The illegal elbows by Jones caused him to be controversially disqualified from the bout, resulting in his only loss, which was back in 2009. Cormier was scheduled to fight Jones in a rematch at UFC 197 on April 23rd but withdrew from the bout after suffering an injury in training. Cormier spoke with FOX Sports on the riddle that is Jon Jones and how his replacement Ovince Saint Preux will do when he faces Jones at UFC 197.
Dada 5000: 'I was pronounced dead' after fight with Kimbo Slice at Bellator 149

There was major concern for Dhafir “Dada 5000” Harris after his bout with Kimbo Slice at Bellator 149, which took place back on February 19th. “Dada 5000” was rushed to the hospital immediately after the bout was over, suffering from cardiac arrest, dehydration, fatigue and renal failure.

UFC waiting to book Holly Holm vs. Ronda Rousey II?

Holly Holm, like many, was shocked to find out that the UFC had opted to not book a rematch between herself and Miesha Tate for UFC 200 after their close fight in the co-main event of UFC 196. Holm’s camp accused Tate of declining a rematch with Holm in order to take an easier fight by agreeing to fight Amanda Nunes. Tate’s camp responded by revealing that a rematch with Holm was never on the table.
