The UFC released a statement through UFC.com on allegations made towards Penn, which they discovered to be false.

UFC announced today that former UFC champion BJ Penn will return to competition on June 4 at UFC 199 against Dennis Siver in a featherweight bout.

Following a review of the matter by Campbell & Williams, a Las Vegas-based law firm hired by UFC to evaluate the situation, UFC has been informed that no criminal or civil charges have been filed against Penn to date, nor has any action been taken by local law enforcement. It should be noted that UFC reserves the right to reevaluate the matter should new information be made available.

Penn, who has been training at the JacksonWink MMA Academy in Albuquerque New Mexico, ended his retirement earlier this year in hopes of capturing the UFC featherweight championship.
