Former UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey and NFL star Odell Beckham Jr. have been featured in a series called “Face 2 Face” by Draft Kings where the two interview one another and give some humorous insight on some of the random things going on in their lives and break down some hypothetical questions. One question that came up was, what animal they identify with the most and “Rowdy” claimed that if she had to be an animal, she would be a dolphin.

Every few weeks UFC light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier and UFC pound for pound kingpin Jon Jones engage in a heated Twitter feud. While the pair were initially slated to fight for the UFC light heavyweight championship on April 23rd in the main event of UFC 197, a leg injury forced Cormier out of the bout. The UFC ultimately selected Ovince Saint Preux as a late fill-in opponent for Jones, and made the bout an interim light heavyweight title fight.

Tragic news surfaced earlier this week that MMA fighter Joao Carvalho had passed away after a brain injury sustained in his fight with Charlie Ward at TEF1 Dublin this past weekend. McGregor was ringside when Carvalho was TKO’d by McGregor’s teammate, which led the UFC featherweight champ to post this lengthy and extremely heartfelt message regarding the death of Carvalho on his official Facebook page.

Terrible news surfaced early Tuesday morning when the community was made aware of the death of 28-year-old Portuguese MMA fighter Joao Carvalho. Carvalho fought Straight Blast Gym fighter Charlie Ward at the TEF 1 event, which took place at the National Stadium in Dublin on Saturday night. Shortly after the fight that ended with Ward winning by TKO in the third round, Carvalho was hospitalized.

It’s no secret that Rafael dos Anjos and Conor McGregor don’t like each other. In the one press conference that the pair had before RDA was forced out of the fight with a broken foot, the pair exchanged heated words. McGregor even went as far as to question dos Anjos as a parent, bringing the lightweight champ’s kids into his trash talk.

The MMA community had heavy hearts this morning as it was revealed that MMA fighter Joao Carvalho had passed away after suffering a TKO loss during his fight with Charlie Ward in Ireland. In the wake of Carvalho’s death, veteran referee Marc Goddard released a heartfelt statement through his Facebook page regarding the incident, as well as the general safety of MMA fighters.

Back at UFC 196, fight fans not only saw Nate Diaz defeat Conor McGregor via submission, but also Miesha Tate pull off a late-fight upset over Holly Holm. In the 5th round it appeared as though Holm was en route to her first successful title defense, however Tate managed to ultimately secure a rear naked choke win to claim the UFC women’s bantamweight championship.

Bellator has established themselves as the biggest competitor to the UFC, with acquisitions such as Henderson, Matt Mitrione, Phil Davis and Josh Thomson being some of the big names that have jumped ship from the UFC to Bellator.

Muhammed ‘King Mo’ Lawal isn’t keen on the idea that UFC featherweight Conor McGregor is getting all the praise for his ambition in moving up in weight to take on Nate Diaz. Although McGregor ultimately lost to Diaz by submission in their initial fight at UFC 196, many praised McGregor for his courage to fight in a higher weight class. “King Mo” opened up about “moneyweight” and how he has been doing it for years, but even he cannot take the claim of pioneering it all.

UFC Hall of Fame legends Chuck Liddell and Forrest Griffin will soon get to have another go at competition. This time, the two former UFC light heavyweight champions will be competing as head coaches on the new season of “The Ultimate Fighter: Latin America 3.” According to the UFC, “Team Liddell vs. Team Griffin is set to begin filming late spring in Buenos Aires, Argentina with a culminating finale programmed for November 5 in Mexico City at Arena Ciudad de Mexico.”

Following the already controversial fight between Kimbo Slice and Dhafir “Dada 5000” Harris at Bellator 149, news broke that two fighters from the card tested positive for banned substances. Kimbo Slice and Ken Shamrock both tested positive for a steroid and Kimbo recently addressed his positive test and the issue of steroid use in MMA with GNP1TV (transcribed by Bloody Elbow).

Officer Brown all over the news in Albuquerque after reporters dig up how many times he has been in trouble for racial profiling in the past. Being a father of biracial children, I'm definitely not one to pull the race card. At the same time, I'm not necessarily surprised about this discovery after the run in I had with him. Having him stand there, look me in the eyes and start accusing me of several things him and I both know I didn't do made me feel let down by the community, made me feel powerless, he made me feel like what was actually true had no power over him. Now it's easier for me to understand why so many people hold resentment towards law enforcement. Officer brown almost single-handedly ruined my trust in law-enforcement. The sad thing about it is, I actually went to school for criminal justice, I wanted to be an officer myself. Fortunately I know better than to let one person ruin my views of a whole group.
