Combat sports careers can’t last forever, and while some fighter’s careers last longer than others, the length of a career doesn’t determine what a fighter will take with them when they decide to hang up the gloves. In the case of UFC veteran James Te Huna, he seems extremely grateful for the things he’s learned throughout his 13 year professional MMA career.

There has been quite a bit of back and forth regarding a potential boxing match between Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather. While it was initially reported that the fight was close to being finalized, it was then revealed that the fight was entirely fictitious, and wouldn’t happen. While many thought the hype surrounding the fight was dead, Mayweather himself then said that he “absolutely” believed the fight would happen.

Chael Sonnen’s suspension from the Nevada Athletic Commission will be up in July as his two-year ban from competition comes to an end. While Sonnen told Ariel Helwani on Monday’s MMA Hour that he does not have any current plans of returning to MMA, he did give Helwani a list of opponents that he would still love to fight.

Former UFC lightweight and welterweight champion BJ Penn was scheduled to come out of retirement at UFC 199 on June 4 in a featherweight bout against Cole Miller. Penn who last fought Frankie Edgar in 2014 is looking to make some noise in the featherweight division but will have to be put on the sideline as he has been pulled from the UFC 199 bout with Cole Miller after telling the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) that he had used an IV previously in March.
