Diego Brandao recently found himself as a free agent in the MMA market after he was arrested for aggravated assault, aggravated battery, and assault with a deadly weapon last month. Prior to that however, Brandao was submitted by Brian Ortega back at UFC 195. Following the fight, Brandao failed a drug test when he tested positive for marijuana.

McGregor’s older sister, Erin, revealed to Goss.ie that she is opening a salon for both men and women, and Conor is an investor who plans to take an active part in the business. In addition, she is in talks to have her own reality show about the salon.

Unfortunate news broke earlier this week that UFC Hall of Famer BJ Penn had been pulled from his scheduled UFC 199 scrap with Cole Miller on June 4th after voluntarily revealing that he used an IV back in March. While there hasn’t been any word in regards to whether or not Penn will be suspended for the infraction, he has remained adamant that this will not prevent his return to the Octagon.

UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey has been on an indefinite hiatus from the Octagon since her brutal 2nd round KO loss to Holly Holm at UFC 194 back in November. Since then, Rousey has been filming quite a few movies in Hollywood. On the other hand, since Rousey’s loss, Conor McGregor won the featherweight championship by knocking out Jose Aldo in just 13 seconds. Following that, McGregor was signed to fight Rafael dos Anjos for the lightweight championship, however dos Anjos broke his foot and was replaced by Nate Diaz. Diaz of course, went on to submit McGregor in the 2nd round. When a rematch was booked for UFC 200, McGregor was pulled from the bout for refusing to fulfill his media obligations.

The two-year suspension has not been lifted, so fighting at Venator FC overseas in Milan, Italy was a loophole that “Toquinho” slipped through to fight once again. Palhares’ Venator debut didn’t go as he had planned in the welterweight title fight as opponent Emil Meek gave “Toquinho” his first loss since 2012, taking the former WSOF champ out by TKO.
