It’s been less than a month since Michael Bisping won the UFC middleweight championship. Since knocking out Luke Rockhold in the main event of UFC 199, Bisping has found himself on the receiving end of numerous call-outs from top ranked middleweights. Former middleweight champion Chris Weidman was one of the first men to call out Bisping given that he was initially slated to fight Luke Rockhold in the main event of UFC 199.

It’s now been nearly 8 months since former UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey was knocked out cold by Holly Holm in the main event of UFC 193. Since then there has been much speculation as to whether or not Rousey would ever return to the Octagon given that she regularly receives offers to star in movies. While there has been no word from Rousey herself as to when she will return to the Octagon, UFC President Dana White recently revealed that the former champ is back training, and will be back in the Octagon by the end of the year.

Back in 2013, former UFC champions Rampage Jackson and Tito Ortiz were supposed to fight under the Bellator MMA banner. Unfortunately, Ortiz was injured during his training camp, and was forced to pull out of the fight. The promotion never rebooked the fight, which was fine with Rampage given that the pair are friends. Following Rampage’s Bellator 157 win over Satoshi Ishii last night, Jackson gave his thoughts on what could be next, mentioning a potential fight with Tito Ortiz.

Stephen ‘Wonderboy’ Thompson put the welterweight division on notice earlier this month when he picked up a unanimous decision win over Rory MacDonald in Ottawa, Canada. The win was an extremely impressive one for Thompson, who picked apart MacDonald, stuffed several takedowns, and fought out of a few submissions, over the course of the fight.

Bisping has done his best to respond to all of the challenges, pointing out that Luke Rockhold was just knocked out, Jacare Souza and Chris Weidman are injured, and that Yoel Romero has been suspended. However, the champ appears to be getting frustrated.

Since Stipe Miocic won the UFC heavyweight championship from Fabricio Werdum in May at UFC 198, he has been a busy man! After winning the championship, Miocic signed to fight Alistair Overeem at UFC 203 in Ohio. Following that, Miocic led the Cleveland Cavaliers championship parade earlier this week. On the heels of that, Miocic began his media obligations for UFC 202, during which he had his first staredown with Alistair Overeem!

Earlier this month, news broke that UFC light heavyweight contender Anthony Johnson had withdrawn from his UFC on FOX 20 co-main event scrap with Glover Teixeira for unknown reasons. It wasn’t made immediately clear whether or not the UFC would look to find a replacement opponent for Teixeira, however we now have our answer.

Another name has dropped on the list of opponents for the new UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping. Bisping opened up on his radio SiriusXM show “The Countdown” about recently hanging out with another big UFC draw that has been out of the loop with a suspension, but will be eligible to fight again in August.
