Nate Diaz and Conor McGregor fought a thrilling five-round war at UFC 202 over the weekend. McGregor was able to avenge his first UFC loss, which was handed to him by Diaz at UFC 196 back in March. Following the exciting UFC 202 main event competition, judges awarded “The Notorious” with a majority decision in what many are considering an all time classic fight.

Rising UFC star Yair Rodriquez turned a lot of heads and gained a lot more new fans after his exciting bout with Alex Caceres at UFC Fight Night 92 earlier this month. Following the ninja-like fight, Rodriguez took off with a film crew to work on his documentary, “El Pantera” and visited the Taramuhara mountains in Mexico.

One fan went way over the top following the judge’s majority decision that had Conor McGregor as the winner over Nate Diaz at UFC 202 over the weekend. According to KZRG, 25-year-old Ulysses Liaina was arrested for unlawful use of a weapon in Missouri after firing gunshots at the Flying J Truck Stop on East 32nd Street.

Prior to Conor McGregor’s UFC 202 rematch with Nate Diaz, the featherweight champ stated that the pair would need a trilogy fight when he won the rematch. McGregor did just that, winning via majority decision this past Saturday in Las Vegas. During his post-fight Octagon interview, McGregor stated that he wants the trilogy fight to go down at lightweight, rather than welterweight.

UFC President Dana White dropped a bomb on Tuesday when he revealed that he was thinking about a potential UFC light heavyweight title eliminator fight between Anthony Johnson and Jon Jones. Jones was pulled from the main event fight against champion Daniel Cormier at UFC 200 in July for an Anti-Doping Policy violation, but has recently stated that he and his team have found out good news regarding the case.

This past weekend at UFC 202, Anthony ‘Rumble’ Johnson left MMA fans in awe as he picked up a spectacular one-punch knockout win over #2 ranked Glover Teixeira in just 13 seconds. Following the win, Johnson and UFC light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier both verbally agreed to a fight. Despite that, UFC President Dana White revealed this week that he is interested in putting together a Jon Jones vs. Anthony Johnson title eliminator fight.

It’s now been 9 months since former UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey stepped into the Octagon. After being brutally knocked out by Holly Holm in the main event of UFC 193, Rousey’s began her indefinite hiatus from the Octagon. While the initial plan was for Rousey to film several movies in Hollywood before returning to the Octagon in November, the former champ’s return has continuously been pushed back.

The string of anti-doping violations continued this week when the USADA announced that yet another fighter had been notified of a potential anti-doping violation. China Top Team’s Li Jingliang was notified that an out-of-competition sample collected on May 18th returned positive for a substance which has yet to be disclosed.

Following UFC 202 on Saturday night, the WWE held it’s ‘Summerslam’ event on Sunday evening. In the main event, Brock Lesnar returned to the WWE for the first time since his UFC 200 win over Mark Hunt in July. The win was an extremely controversial one given that Lesnar failed an out-of-competition drug test a month prior to the fight, and then failed his fight night drug test on July 9th. During Lesnar’s WWE walkout, a fan proudly held up a sign that said “Got juice” in reference to Lesnar’s failed drug test.

Earlier this month, UFC President Dana White revealed that things have been going well for pound for pound kingpin Jon Jones in regards to his USADA case. Jones followed up White’s comments with a video of his own, in which he informed fans that he hopes to be in the Octagon once again very soon. Jones, who failed an out-of-competition drug test prior to his UFC 200 scrap with Daniel Cormier, was pulled from the card just two days before their scheduled fight.

In the wake of UFC 202, the NSAC has ruled to officially extend Brock Lesnar’s temporary suspension. Lesnar, who defeated Mark Hunt via unanimous decision on the main card of UFC 200, failed an out of competition drug test prior to the fight, as well as a fight night drug test.
