Tom Taylor - September 2, 2016
Next weekend, former WWE superstar CM Punk will make his first foray into mixed martial arts. He’ll be taking on talented 24-year-old Mickey Gall on the main card of UFC 203. Prior to his signing with the UFC, which was announced on the main card of UFC 181 back in 2014, Punk had no real martial arts experience. UFC welterweight Peter Sobotta was born in Poland and raised in Germany. Because of this, he feels an allegiance to both countries. Unfortunately, this dual-allegiance tends to make things difficult when Sobotta has to decide which country to represent for his UFC bouts. “So this question, ‘Are you Polish or are you German?’ – I really don’t like this question, because I have two hearts,” Sobotta explained in a recent interview with The Sun. “I have this Polish side and this German side, and whatever I say, someone gets annoyed because of this.”

At UFC 202, McGregor reclaimed the biggest payday record with a disclosed purse of $3 million, while his opponent Nate Diaz claimed a sizeable $2 million. Indeed, while most fighters still don’t make what they should, the precedent for big paydays now exists.

Alexander Gustafsson looking forward despite narrow losses in title fights
bjpenndotcom - September 1, 2016
Alexander ‘The Mauler’ Gustafsson has arguably been on the wrong end of two of the closest decision in UFC history.
