While details are pretty scarce at the present time, BloodyElbow is reporting that Gadelha and Nova Uniao head coach Andre Pederneiras had an argument following Gadelha’s loss to Joanna Jedrzejczyk. According to the report, Gadelha was unhappy with how her training went leading up to the fight, which she believed resulted in her loss.

As a result of the dispute, Gadelha left the gym, and opened ‘Claudia Gadelha’s MMA & BJJ Academy’ in Pennsylvania, where she is also the head coach.

While Gadelha currently doesn’t have her next fight booked inside the Octagon, the report revealed that her next training camp will take place at Kumura Nova Uniao, which is where former UFC bantamweight champion Renan Barao trains, in addition to #3 ranked flyweight Jussier Formiga.

Gadelha, who is ranked as the #1 contender in the UFC women’s strawweight division, holds a 13-2 professional record, and a 2-2 record in the UFC, with her only losses coming at the hands of Joanna Jedrzejczyk, who reigns as the women’s strawweight champion.
