UFC interim lightweight champion Tony Ferguson has always had plenty to say about undisputed lightweight champ Conor McGregor. In the wake of McGregor’s chaotic brush with a referee and commissioner at last Friday’s Bellator 187 event in Ireland, that trend continued. Over the weekend, Ferguson directed yet another jab at McGregor, once again referring to the Irish star as “McNuggets,” and using the hashtag “#LookingForAWayOut.”
After KO of Diego Sanchez, Matt Brown gets called out for another fight

Last weekend, on the main card of the UFC’s action-packed stop in Norfolk, Virginia, Matt Brown stepped into the cage with Diego Sanchez for a bout that he suggested would probably be the last of his career. He won this bout with flying colors, putting Sanchez down with a violent elbow in the first round. While this bout was expected to be Brown’s retirement fight, he has since suggested he needs a bit more time to think about it.

A little over a week removed from his submission loss to Georges St-Pierre – which was preceded by quite a bit of blunt force trauma – former UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping is already scheduled for another fight. Having stepped in to replace Anderson Silva, who was notified of a potential USADA violation, Bisping is now set to face Kelvin Gastelum in the main event of the UFC’s debut in Shanghai on November 26. Speaking to FloCombat just hours after this bout was announced, Bisping explained his choice to step in against Gastelum.

Of course that is not to say that “The Bullet” was not gorgeous when fighting at bantamweight. But at her new home of flyweight, Shevchenko is definitely a top contender for the title of “the most beautiful woman in all of mixed martial arts”.

On Saturday night, on the main card of the UFC’s exciting stop in Norfolk, Virginia, former UFC heavyweight champion and long-time heavyweight contender Andrei Arlovski returned to the cage. The Belarusian legend’s opponent was rising Brazilian Junior Albini. Given that Arlovski stepped into the cage on a career-worst five-fight losing streak, this was a pretty clear make-or-break fight for him. Luckily, the former champ was able to do what was needed, out-striking his foe to a sound unanimous decision win after three rounds of action.

Last night, the UFC touched down in Norfolk, Virginia with the riveting UFC Fight Night 120. In the main event, we saw long-time lightweight contender Dustin Poirier score a strange but thrilling TKO win over former lightweight champion Anthony Pettis. In the co-main event, meanwhile, we saw the probably retiring Matt Brown author a hammer-like elbow KO win over fellow veteran Diego Sanchez. Elsewhere on the card, finally, we saw big wins from veteran fighters like Andrei Arlovski, Clay Guida, Raphael Assuncao and others.

On Saturday night, in the main event of the UFC’s action packed stop in Norfolk, Virginia, lightweight stars Anthony Pettis and Dustin Poirier stepped into the cage together in a fight that was long expected to deliver fireworks. When the cage door locked, the fight delivered. For two and a half rounds, Pettis and Poirier thrilled onlookers, swapping heavy artillery and submission attempts and painting the canvas red with blood. In the end, however, Poirier earned himself a TKO win, slapping a tight body triangle onto his foe, whose midsection seemed to be injured.

On Saturday night, in the co-main event of the UFC’s action packed stop in Norfolk, Virginia, long-time UFC welterweight star Matt Brown stepped into the cage for what was expected to be the final fight of his career. His opponent in this potential swan song was Diego Sanchez, a veteran fighter of a similar vintage. Brown, who towered over the former lightweight Sanchez, won this fight with apparent ease, crushing Sanchez with a violent, first-round elbow (see that below).

UFC legend Joe Lauzon has issued a statement following his first-round loss to Clay Guida at tonight’s UFC event in Norfolk, Virginia. Guida stunned Lauzon with a combination and then put him down to the floor with a punch shortly thereafter. “The Carpenter” would follow “J-Lau” to the ground and begin raining down some viscous ground and pound. Eventually the referee would step in and put a stop to the contest.

A key lightweight scrap between Dustin Poirier and former division champion Anthony Pettis headlined tonight’s UFC Fight Night card in Norfolk, Virginia. Round one begins and Pettis starts things off with a side kick followed by a low kick. Poirier is pressing forward but Anthony catches him with another low kick. Dustin misses with an uppercut. Pettis leaps in with a flying knee followed by a left hand. Dustin shoots in and scores with a double leg takedown. Pettis is up against the fence which he might use to wall-walk here. Pettis is looking to lock up a guillotine choke. He switches to a kimura attempt. Poirier breaks free of the submission attempt and lands some shots to the body. Pettis scores a sweep and winds up on top. He opts to stand up and Poirier catches him with an elbow. Pettis lands a nice counter right hand over the top. He finds a home for it again. Poirier once again shoots in for a takedown but this time Pettis is able to defend. Anthony misses with a low kick and Poirier counters nicely with a left hand. That appeared to stun Pettis. Poirier comes forward with a combination. He is all over Pettis here. Anthony lands a spinning back fist. Poirier with another flurry. Round one comes to an end.

A welterweight scrap between veterans Matt Brown and Diego Sanchez served as the co-main event of tonight’s UFC Fight Night card in Norfolk, Virginia. Round one begins and Diego charges out quickly. He lands a right hand and then shoots in for a takedown. Brown works in an elbow as Sanchez wrestles for a single leg takedown. Matt is doing a good job of defending. Diego works in some knees to the thigh of Brown. Matt is trying hard to break off of the cage but Sanchez won’t let him. Brown finally breaks free. Diego catches him with a shot to the body. Brown circles and then connects with a nice left jab. Diego charges forward with a right hand over the top that just misses. He dives in for a single leg but it is not there. Brown lands a low kick followed by a jab. Diego returns fire with a kick of his own. He hurts Brown with that one. Matt briefly retreats and then comes back in the pocket. Brown lands a nice knee to the body. He follows that up with an elbow over the top that floors Diego. Oh my goodness. This one is all over!
