After a brief scramble, the UFC decided to have Jon Jones and Daniel Cormier fill the main event slot with their highly anticipated rematch for the light heavyweight championship. Jones took to Instagram to thank McGregor for the main event slot, and reveal an interesting bit of information about just what a UFC 200 main event fighter has to go through in terms of media obligations.

Jones defeated Saint Preux via unanimous decision to claim the interim light heavyweight championship. In the main event of UFC 197, Jon Jones defeated Ovince Saint Preux to claim the interim UFC light heavyweight championship. While Jones seemed extremely gun-shy throughout the fight, he explained post-fight that the late change of opponents threw him off, and he would look better when he fought Daniel Cormier. While Jones stated that he felt like he could go another 5 rounds after the fight, corner-cam audio captured his head coach, Greg Jackson, criticizing Jones’ power-lifting regimen after round 5.
