UFC strawweight Joanne Calderwood made some noise about her pay and being broke following her fight with Valerie Letourneau at UFC Fight Night 89.

UFC President Dana White caught wind of Calderwood’s gripe on not getting a “Performance of the Night” bonus and said that he would be giving Calderwood the bonus and signing her to a new deal.

As of Sunday, Calderwood told the Mirror that she hasn’t heard from anyone with the UFC regarding the bonus or a new contract.

“It’s weird. The news came out a few days later but they still haven’t really told me – I found out on the Internet,” Calderwood said. “People just started messaging me so I looked on there I found out.”

Calderwood says that she has gotten over the fact that her performance didn’t get awarded that night, but admits that it dampened her mood even after winning the fight.

“It’s in the past now but on the night I was a little disappointed to find out after the fight that I had just stopped a girl that was ranked above me and wasn’t getting one. I was like man, wasn’t that good enough?”

Despite not getting the bonus check or new contract yet, Calderwood was happy to hear what White had to say about it.

“Like I said, I was cool with the decision after and I was going to just get on with it but it was nice to hear I got one later on.”
