Cat Zingano explains why she was "so scared" ahead of UFC Boise fight with Marion Reneau

Tom Taylor - July 15, 2018

Cat Zingano entered her UFC Boise battle with Marion Reneau on a three-fight losing streak, having not won a bout since 2014. Needless to say, the pressure she felt to win was massive. So massive, that she admits she felt very scared ahead of the fight. In the end, of course, Zingano came out on top, landing a procession of slick takedowns en route to a unanimous decision victory. To say she’s relieved to have earned this sorely-needed win would be an understatement.

Tom Taylor - November 16, 2017

It has now been well over a year since Cat Zingano’s last fight: a disappointing decision loss to Julianna Pena on the undercard of UFC 200 in July of 2016. From the sounds of it, that could soon change. On Thursday morning, Zingano published a Tweet suggesting that she had been given an opponent and date for her comeback, and that the news was coming shortly.

UFC Bantamweight Champion Amanda Nunes Calls Out Cat Zingano

Justin Golightly - October 31, 2017

Aside from the announcement of Khabib Nurmagomedov fighting Edson Barboza at UFC 219, news has been quiet for the supposed end-of-the-year super card. If Raquel Pennington hadn’t of broken her leg, we would have already had the card’s first title fight booked. The plan was to have Amanda Nunes defend her belt against fourth-ranked Pennington. Her management team has moved on, stating Nunes will take the rest of the year off and citing a lack of logical challengers. However, Nunes may have her eye on sixth-ranked Cat Zingano after she comes back and grabs a win. I would really like a rematch with you… I feel one more win would put you there

Cat Zingano open to Holly Holm fight

bjpenndotcom - June 21, 2017

While Cat Zingano may currently be on the sidelines recovering from an injury, she has continued to keep her name in headlines for her willingness to fight top ranked contenders. First it was Cris Cyborg, the woman who struggled to find an opponent for months, who Zingano was willing to fight. Unfortunately for ‘Alpha’ Cat Zingano, Cyborg is now set to fight Megan Anderson for the vacant women’s featherweight title at UFC 214, leaving Zingano to wonder who she could fight in her highly anticipated return to the Octagon.

Cat Zingano reveals Cris Cyborg fight being discussed

bjpenndotcom - May 30, 2017

Former UFC women’s bantamweight title challenger Cat Zingano has been absent from the Octagon for nearly a year. In her most recent Octagon appearance at UFC 200 in July of 2016, Zingano returned to the Octagon following a year long hiatus that followed her first round submission loss to Ronda Rousey. When she made her return nearly a year ago, she was handed a unanimous decision loss from Julianna Pena, marking two straight defeats. While Zingano has taken quite a bit of time off between her last two fights, she isn’t looking to take any tune-up fights when she returns to the Octagon. In fact, Zingano welcomes a fight with arguably the most feared woman in the UFC, Cris Cyborg.

bjpenndotcom - May 27, 2017

This past weekend, the UFC hosted the first ever ‘UFC Athlete Retreat’ where hundreds of fighters congregated in Las Vegas for a weekend of all-inclusive fun and presentations. With that being said, there was some tension at the retreat, tension that was brought up by Kajan Johnson in a move that ultimately resulted in a positive discussion between the fighters and the UFC.

Russell Ess - January 13, 2017

If you know anyone who has taken their own life, the sting of that loss burns for a long time and former UFC women’s bantamweight title challenger Cat Zingano is one to know. Cat Zingano: "I love what I do & I'm here to do it"

bjpenndotcom - September 17, 2016

Cat Zingano is in quite the peculiar place in the UFC’s women’s bantamweight division. While ‘Alpha Cat’ is ranked at #6 on the UFC’s official women’s bantamweight rankings, she holds a dominant TKO win over Amanda Nunes, who is currently the women’s bantamweight champion. In addition, Zingano holds a win over Miesha Tate, who Nunes beat to claim the women’s bantamweight champion at UFC 200. With that being said, Zingano is on a 2-fight losing streak that saw her suffer the first defeat of her professional career at the hands of Ronda Rousey back in 2015, and more recently saw her drop a unanimous decision to Julianna Pena.
