Cat Zingano reportedly close to returning to the UFC

It has been almost exactly a year since Cat Zingano lost her UFC 184 women’s bantamweight title fight to Ronda Rousey.

Since then Zingano has been on an indefinite leave of absence, even going to Thailand to work on her striking. While there’s been no official word yet on when Zingano will return to the Octagon, her manager says it will likely be soon.

He spoke to MMAJunkie:

“When she went out there to spend a month training, she really enjoyed it,” Soares told MMAjunkie Radio. “It really re-motivated her. She’s focused, and I believe you’ll be seeing Cat back in the octagon by the beginning of summer.”

“Speaking with her this week, I was very happy to hear how motivated and focused she is, that she’s already talking about what she wants to do for her next camp and bring in some different trainers and things,” he said. “So it’s nice to hear her very motivated because we all know when Cat is motivated, she can be a very dangerous and always a very exciting fighter.”

With Holly Holm and Miesha Tate set to fight at UFC 196 on March 5th, and Ronda Rousey fighting the winner, who do you want to see Zingano fight?
