‘Bellator 129’ Results: Santos Picks Up Decision Win Over Terry

By bjpenndotcom - October 17, 2014

Andre Santos

Andre Santos and James Terry wanted nothing to do with the ground game at all, and the bout resembled that of a boxing match. Neither Terry or Santos found a comfortable striking range throughout the fight and as a result of that, big shots were few and far between.

Terry took to the center of the cage and dictated where the action went for the majority of the bout. Terry was sluggish in his striking approach after the first round which allowed Santos to land some unorthodox counters.

Santos finally landed a big shot in the beginning of the third round that dropped Terry, but he could not capitalize on it as Terry got right back up seconds later. Terry was successful in taking Santos down later on in the round, but he did nothing with the takedown.

Santos did a lot of work throughout this bout and Terry’s face displayed the punishment he absorbed throughout the fifteen minutes of action.

Andre Santos def. James Terry by way of Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27)
