Aaron Chalmers pays out fan’s failed bet after winning by submission

By Tom Taylor - June 23, 2019

Aaron Chalmers was an integral part of one fan’s Bellator 223 parlay bet, but he didn’t win quite the way that fan predicted, stopping his fight via submission rather than knockout.

When Chalmers learned that his method of victory had derailed this fan’s otherwise successful parlay, he offered to pay the fan’s prospective winnings via PayPal.

“Wish you knocked him out! Was not expecting the class ground game, well done man,” the fan wrote to Aaron Chalmers on Twitter.

“Shit!!! Send me your PayPal I will pay you the bet out bro,” Aaron Chalmers responded.

Shortly thereafter, the fan verified that he actually received his would-be winnings from Chalmers.

“Cannot believe [Aaron Chalmers] has just PayPal’d me this because he submitted the guy,” he wrote. “Absolute hero.”

With his victory at Bellator London, a triangle choke over Fred Freeman, Aaron Chalmers rebounded from the first loss of his professional MMA career, a February submission loss to Corey Browning.

Prior to that submission loss to Browning, the former star of the British reality show Geordie Shore rattled off four-straight victories to begin his MMA career — two submissions and two knockouts.

Already very popular thanks to his reality TV career and his fan-friendly fighting style, it’s safe to say Aaron Chalmers gained a few new fans this weekend by paying off this fan’s unsuccessful parlay bet.
