Former heavyweight boxing champion Tyson Fury will face a 39-fight winner in his final tune-up for Anthony Joshua.

UK heavyweight legends Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua are on a collision course for a targeted boxing clash later this year. Before their highly anticipated showdown, Fury and Joshua will face alternative opponents to prepare for their clash.

After almost two full years away from the boxing ring, Fury defeated Arslanbek Makhmudov by unanimous decision in April. The victory snapped a two-fight losing skid after back-to-back defeats to Oleksandr Usyk in 2024.

Fury and Joshua will fight just 24 hours apart from each other in July. For Fury, he’ll face a 39-fight winner in what’s expected to be his final tune-up for the Joshua fight.

As announced by Queensberry Promotions on Tuesday, Fury will fight Mariusz Wach (39-13-0) at Max Muay Thai Stadiumin Pattaya, Thailand on July 24th. Meanwhile, Joshua will fight Albanian Kristian Prenga in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia before turning his attention towards Fury.

Profits from ticket sales for Fury vs. Wach will go to local charities in the Pattaya area.

Wach returns to the ring after a loss to Viktor Vykhryst for the WBO European heavyweight title in March. A former Moses Itauma rival, Wach’s last win came against Piotr Cwik in September.

Reactions to Fury’s fight against Wach are mixed since Queensberry’s announcement. Wach has lost seven of his last 10 fights, and although he’s fought several intriguing names, including Jarrell Miller and Alexander Povetkin, he doesn’t hold a statement win over a top contender.

The full card for Fury vs. Wach is expected to be announced in the coming weeks. Joshua vs. Prenga was announced earlier this month.
