This Friday in Saudi Arabia, ‘AJ’ and ‘The Predator’ will clash in the boxing ring. For Anthony Joshua, he’s red-hot heading into this heavyweight matchup. The British star is currently riding a three-fight winning streak, last stopping Otto Wallin in December. Meanwhile, Francis Ngannou is fresh off his debut in the ring against Tyson Fury last fall.

In October, the PFL heavyweight nearly handed ‘The Gpysy King’ his first career defeat. Despite dropping the boxer in round three and even cutting Fury, Ngannou still left the ring with a split-decision defeat. However, the performance was impressive enough to land the MMA fighter another high-profile boxing match against Anthony Joshua.

In keeping with a lot of high-profile boxing matches lately, this one will be going down in the Middle East. In the last year or so, Saudi advisor Turki Alalshikh began pushing the country heavily down the path of hosting boxing matches. As a result, fights such as Tyson Fury vs. Oleksandr Usyk, and Anthony Joshua vs. Francis Ngannou, will go down in Saudi Arabia.

Those matchups are going down in the Middle East, largely thanks to the insane purses that boxers are getting. For reference, Francis Ngannou reportedly made $10 million against Tyson Fury in his debut last year. Meanwhile, ‘The Gypsy King’ left that ring with a $50 million payday against the former UFC champion.

For Francis Ngannou’s second trip to the boxing ring, he will reportedly walk away with double that amount. As first reported by Forbes, ‘The Predator’ will earn upwards of $20 million tomorrow night against Anthony Joshua. While a nice figure, it does pale in comparison to what the British boxer is going to make.

According to the report, ‘AJ’ will earn a whopping $50 million for the boxing match. It’s also worth noting that the former champion could reportedly earn more, based on how well the pay-per-view and the gate does. Overall, it’s going to be quite the night for business for both Anthony Joshua and Francis Ngannou.

Given the record-setting payday, it should be no surprise that Francis Ngannou is interested in staying in boxing full-time. Earlier this week, the MMA fighter stated that he planned to box Deontay Wilder after his bout on Friday. That counteracts with comments from PFL boss Donn Davis, who previously announced Ngannou’s promotional debut would likely happen in 2024.

What do you make of these purse amounts? Are you excited for Anthony Joshua vs. Francis Ngannou? Who do you have winning in the heavyweight boxing match?
