Dana White announces Ryan Garcia vs. Conor Benn for Sept. 12: “This fight is going to be awesome”

Zuffa Boxing has booked its biggest fight to date official.
Many had been speculating what would be next for Ryan Garcia, and the answer is a clash with Conor Benn on an event promoted by Zuffa Boxing. UFC CEO Dana White made the announcement on his X page. During his announcement, White revealed the date and location for the grudge match.
“It is official. Ryan Garcia vs. Conor Benn is signed and taking place Sept. 12 live from T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas,” White revealed. “Garcia is the world welterweight champion, Ring Magazine’s fifth-ranked welterweight in the world. He has 25 wins and 20 of those have come by knockout.
“He is facing Conor Benn, who is 25-1 with 14 knockouts. His only loss is to [Chris] Eubank Jr., and he immediately avenged that loss. These guys have been going back-and-forth on social media, and this fight is going to be awesome.”
White also announced that Garcia vs. Benn will be airing live on Paramount+ globally with the exception of the UK and Ireland, as DAZN will have the broadcast rights in those areas.
Garcia captured the WBC welterweight title by defeating Mario Barrios back in February. It was a much-needed return to form for “KingRy,” who had a disappointing showing in his 2025 loss to Rolly Romero.
As for Benn, he’s riding high off two straight wins. After avenging his loss to Eubank Jr., Benn followed it up with a unanimous decision win over Regis Prograis. The victory over Prograis was held under the Zuffa Boxing banner in Benn’s first fight with the promotion. While that was initially a one-fight deal, “The Destroyer” went on to sign a new contract.
