All eyes will be on UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey when she enters the octagon at “UFC 193” this weekend. For many tuning in, this will be their sixth or seventh time watching her defend her championship. The fifty-thousand screaming fans in attendance will be behind the favorite, no doubt, as she goes up against underdog Holly Holm. There are thousands upon thousands of young women who look up to Rousey, however, who will not be able to watch the card as they don’t have the means to order the card.
They will be hanging on every word and every report, hoping to catch a brief replay of the bout shortly after it ends. Whether Rousey wins or loses this weekend in Melbourne, Australia, she will have the support of millions behind her. It isn’t often the main FOX network runs the embedded series on their channel, but Rousey is such a big deal that they decided to run the usually internet-exclusive series on Sunday night.
UFC has uploaded the full feature on Rousey in the video above and you can go behind the scenes in both the champion’s and challenger’s training camps leading into this fight. Holm may only have two UFC fights under her belt, but she has impressed by striking from a distance which is exactly what she would need to do to dethrone Rousey. If Rousey chooses to bring the fight and turn up the pace, however, Holm will need to prove she wasn’t given this title opportunity too early in her UFC stint by adapting early.
Who do you think will walk away with the UFC Women’s Bantamweight Championship? Will Ronda Rousey retain and reign supreme as per usual, or will Holly Holm shock the world and prove the bookies wrong who labeled her an underdog?
