The bad news continues for pound for pound kingpin Jon Jones. After being pulled from UFC 200 on Wednesday for a potential USADA anti-doping violation, it was announced that USADA would be testing Jones’ ‘B sample’.
While Jones and his team admitted that the odds of the sample coming back negative were rather slim, they did hold out hope for the situation. Friday afternoon news broke that the sample did indeed come back positive.
USADA spokesman Ryan Madden released a statement on the matter, which was obtained by MMAFighting:
“I can confirm that Mr. Jones’ B sample results have been reported by the laboratory, and that the results confirm the findings of the A sample,”
Interestingly enough, USADA won’t release the name of the two substances Jones was popped for unless the former champ and his team reveal the info first.
Stay tuned for updates as they become available.
