VIDEO | Nick Diaz: "I'm ready to fight!" - Wants To Whoop Johny Hendricks
BJPENN.COM News - March 17, 2014
“I’m ready to go, I’m ready to fight. It’s a good time, seasonally. I’m kind of seasonal. Right now, this summer, this whole year, a fresh start, I’m ready to fight. I think I can win. I’ve had pretty good training this year, regardless no fights, no camps. I’ve jumped in and out of other camps. I put a couple days in on Jake’s camp. Not too much, I had to travel a lot… No, I haven’t (talked to White). I don’t know how Dana feels about any of this.” On Hendricks vs. Lawler decision: “Maybe they want me to fight Johny Hendricks. Take an ass whooping right to your face, bro, worse than tonight. You got your ass whooped, all four rounds. I need a title fight, a real fight. Let the fans see what they want to see. I want to fight for the title.”
Woodley: Condit Injury Doesn't Take Away From UFC 171 Win
BJPENN.COM News - March 17, 2014
“I was dominating Carlos Condit, which is a hard thing to do. I surprised him with the leg kick. He wasn’t expecting it because he’s the leg kicker. So for me to go out there and chop his leg down … his knee got injured from getting taken down, from a great, timed double leg. It’s just a part of the game, like if I did an armbar and he doesn’t tap or I do a choke and he doesn’t tap. It’s a part of the game so it doesn’t take away from the victory for me because I was dominating the fight.” In Saturday’s co-main event, Tyron Woodley walked away with a TKO victory over Carlos Condit.
Hendricks Knew He Only Had Five-Minutes To Win The Title
BJPENN.COM News - March 17, 2014
“I looked at [my corner] and I said, it’s two to two. I’ve gotta win this round. I’m not dumb. I’m not going to be one of those naïve fighters who goes ‘four to zero’. I’m true to myself. I knew I had to go out there and win that fifth round. My coaches, they told me what I needed to hear, put it that way. And I took it to heart. Leave everything out there. Five minutes can change the world.” “I damn near died again (waiting for the decision). I was sitting there like, man, not another GSP. “Take nothing away from Robbie, he fought hard too. We were out there and I was looking like, man, please call my name. Please call my name. They did, and it hasn’t really sunk in yet, if that makes sense. I know this thing (the UFC belt) is sitting in front of me, but that’s the way it’s always been for me. It’ll take me a couple weeks before I look back and say, oh my God, I’m the UFC champ. I’ll take it to heart and hopefully continue.”
