James Lee Mein, father of UFC welterweight standout Jordan Mein, plead not guilty to a charge of one count sexual battery, this according to his lawyer Jason Edge (via MMAFighting).

Mein was arrested on August 22 in Tulsa, one day before his son (Jordan) fought Mike Pyle in the co-main event of UFC Fight Night 49.

The 47-year-old was accused of assaulting a female maid at a hotel prior to the UFC Fight Night 49 weigh-ins and was subsequently arrested.

Lee Mein was released on $2,000 surety bond hours later, however, the UFC barred Mein from cornering his son Jordan the next night.

The arrest of his father did not hinder Jordan’s performance, as the surging Canadian took just 72 seconds to beat “Quicksand” via TKO.

The charges against Lee Mein were made official on September 10. A preliminary hearing has been set for October 23.

“[Lee] insists this did not happen, hence the not guilty plea,” stated Mein’s lawyer, Jason Edge. “He insists he’s being wrongfully accused.”

Lee Mein is still an active MMA fighter with a 6-13 record. His latest fight came in February, which he lost to former UFC fighter Tim Hague.
