Dricus du Plessis and Kamaru Usman make weight ahead of UFC Oklahoma showdown

Dricus du Plessis and Kamaru Usman reached their contracted weights on Friday morning, and have now made their UFC Oklahoma main event official.

Du Plessis and Usman are set for a collision course inside the Paycom Center on Saturday. Prior to fight night, “Stillknocks” tipped the scales at 185.5 pounds, while “The Nigerian Nightmare” clocked in at 186 pounds. The ceremonial weigh-in event is scheduled to take place at 7 p.m. ET.

This will be Usman’s first fight at middleweight in almost three full years. Back in 2023, the former UFC welterweight titleholder had a competitive three-round clash with Khamzat Chimaev. Usman fell short in his efforts via majority decision.

This will be du Plessis’ first fight since his own bout with Chimaev, which was far more lopsided. Entering his UFC 319 clash with “Borz” back in Aug. 2025, du Plessis was the reigning UFC Middleweight Champion. While “Stillknocks” was hoping for his third successful title defense, he had no answer for the challenger’s grappling. In the end, du Plessis lost the middleweight gold in a landslide decision loss against Chimaev.

At the age of 39, Usman believes he still has some juice left to hand du Plessis his second straight defeat. Du Plessis has never lost two straight MMA bouts, and Usman is looking to be the first exception.

Meanwhile, du Plessis has vowed to become a two-time UFC Middleweight Champion. He recently told UFC’s media team that “hated” losing to Chimaev in the fashion that he did. “Stillknocks” claimed that he was meant to stay as a world champion, and he plans on regaining the gold at some point.
