Paul Daley says he’s waiting for Lorenz Larkin to accept a fight

By Tom Taylor - July 5, 2017

If a recent Facebook post from British knockout artist Paul Daley is to be believed, Bellator MMA is working on an absolutely dynamite welterweight scrap. In his post, Daley suggested that he had agreed to a fight with former UFC welterweight contender and recent Bellator title challenger Lorenz Larkin, and that he’s just waiting for Larkin to agree to the fight.

“Lorenz Larkin…” Daley said in his post. “We’ve agreed, we’re just waiting on you.”

While this does not confirm Bellator is working on a Daley vs. Larkin fight, it sure seems to suggest as much. And given the styles of the two fighters, this is a matchup that is bound to have fans drooling.

When we last saw Daley in action, he came up short to former UFC welterweight title challenger Rory MacDonald, succumbing to a second-round choke. He preceded this loss with a knockout of the year contender against Brennan Ward, who he put down with a rocket-fuelled flying knee to the jaw.

Larkin, meanwhile, recently debuted in the Bellator cage against the organization’s welterweight champion, Douglas Lima. Despite putting forth a strong effort, Larkin came up short in this welterweight title fight, losing a decision and helping to further legitimize Lima as one of the best welterweights on earth. Larkin’s most recent win occured in the UFC’s Octagon, where the battered the promotion’s fifth-ranked welterweight Neil Magny to a first-round TKO.

Though this fight is bound to excite many fans, it’s also bound to disappoint a few, as it means we’re going to be deprived even longer of a clash between Daley and his fiercest rival, Michael “Venom” Page.

Who do you think wins a fight between the welterweight strikers Paul Daley and Lorenz Larkin?
