Former UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones has been training hard for his return to the Octagon. Jones was suspended last year from the UFC and stripped of his championship title for legal issues involving a hit-and-run accident in Albuquerque, New Mexico back in 2015. Jones has since been reinstated by the UFC and is expected to take on the current light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier. This will be the second time Jones and Cormier will meet in the Octagon. Jones defeated Cormier back at UFC 182, which took place on January 2, 2015. The rematch will be Jones’ first fight back in the UFC and Cormier will get his chance to avenge his loss and keep the light heavyweight title.

It looks like UFC veteran Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone has been involved in a horrendous car accident. The always game fan favorite is scheduled to move up to welterweight and face Tim Means on February 21st at UFC Fight Night 83 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Cerrone posted photos recently to social media of a severely wrecked truck. Obviously, if Cerrone was able to post to his social media, he was not seriously hurt.

“I also want to be a trailblazer for the betterment of fighters,” said former UFC lightweight champion Benson Henderson in an ESPN interview. “Smooth,” who announced his decision to sign with the Bellator MMA fight promotion on Monday spoke with ESPN on what prompted him to opt for Bellator. “Bellator is open to a fighters union — fighters binding together to see what’s in our best interest. That’s something you can’t even breathe about elsewhere. I think it’s a good thing for myself and other fighters to have that.”

It looks like some fighters and fans are not the only ones to get really pissed off about the Reebok deal set with the UFC. Wrestling superstar Dave Bautista seems to be extremely perturbed with the corporate athletic wear company’s fighter pay structure and deal with the UFC. Bautista tweeted “Anyone who buys that goofy UFC @Reebok shit is endorsing the fighters getting fucked out of their sponsorships. Just a thought #fuckreebok” on Saturday when the UFC on FOX 18 event was on.

Tim Kennedy hasn’t fought since his controversial 3rd round TKO loss to Yoel Romero at UFC 178 back in 2014, however at the end of last year Kennedy announced that he would be returning to the Octagon, and gunning for PED users and TRT abusers. While Kennedy was initially lobbying for a fight with Vitor Belfort, the UFC decided to book Belfort vs. Jacare in what many assume to be a #1 contender fight.

Monday afternoon Bellator MMA announced arguably their biggest signing in promotional history. Former UFC lightweight champion Benson Henderson shocked MMA fans as it was revealed that he will be leaving the UFC and had signed with Bellator MMA. Henderson was riding a 2-fight win streak in the UFC that saw him submit Brandon Thatch and most recently pick up a split decision win over Jorge Masvidal in South Korea. The 2-fight win streak was in wake of Henderson going on a 2-fight losing streak that saw him get KO’d by Rafael dos Anjos, and lose a controversial decision to Donald Cerrone.
