When news broke that UFC lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos had suffered an injury and was forced to pull out of his UFC 196 main event fight with Conor McGregor, many fighters decided to throw their name in the hat for the short-notice fight. Former WEC featherweight champion Urijah Faber was one of those fighters. Unfortunately for the “California Kid”, former UFC lightweight challenger Nate Diaz ended up being the fighter selected to ‘fill the void’ for March’s UFC pay-per-view event.

In the co-main event of Bellator 149, Kimbo Slice and Dada 5000 fought in what many believed to be one of the strangest fights in MMA history. Both men gassed out in the fight extremely quick, forcing referee ‘Big’ John McCarthy to even stand the fighters up at one point when Kimbo had mount.

At the UFC 196 press conference on Wednesday, McGregor repeatedly used the microphone to make statements towards Nick Diaz, who was not on stage but was at the event. In addition, McGregor referred to Nate Diaz as “Nick’s lil bro” several times throughout the event.

Everyone knew Conor McGregor’s UFC 196 fight with Nate Diaz would include quite a bit of trash talk. However, with that being said no one could have predicted that a fan would take things this far. A fan posted a photo of himself wielding an AK-47 on Twitter along with several Tweets warning McGregor to “be careful” following the UFC 196 press conference Wednesday afternoon.
