The MMA world was taken by surprise last week when it was revealed that Kimbo Slice had passed away at the age of 42. Unbeknownst to the MMA community, Slice had a mass on his liver and needed a heart transplant. Prior to being transported to another hospital to await a heart transplant, Slice passed away.

In the main event of UFC 199, Michael Bisping shocked the world as he knocked Luke Rockhold out cold in the very first round of their UFC 199 middleweight title scrap. Following the fight, Bisping and Rockhold engaged in two heated verbal exchanges. The first was in the Octagon, where Rockhold refused to shake Bisping’s hand a second time. The second was at the post-fight press conference when Rockhold began stating that he would “kill” Bisping. The pair exchanged heated words in front of media members, and ultimately had to be separated.
Dominick Cruz reflects on Urijah Faber rivalry post-UFC 199

Going into UFC 199, there was certainly no love lost between Dominick Cruz and Urijah Faber. For nearly 10 years the pair had engaged in a bitter rivalry after Faber submitted Cruz back in 2007 under the WEC banner. Cruz avenged the loss in the UFC, defeating Faber via unanimous decision, however that wasn’t enough to put an end to the rivalry. In the co-main event of UFC 199, the pair finally competed in a trilogy fight, which Cruz won in convincing fashion.

Rumor: UFC sale is done

After a report Tuesday evening indicated that there has been progress in the Fertitta brothers and Dana White selling the UFC, BJPenn.com spoke to a source regarding the situation who informed us the word on the street is that the sale is complete. Initial reports about the UFC’s sale emerged quite some time ago, however UFC President Dana White was quick to shut them down as he informed fans that the UFC isn’t for sale.

There has been much speculation as to whether or not Dana White and the Fertittas will sell the UFC. While initial reports stated that the trio were extremely close to finalizing a sale, UFC President Dana White then refuted the reports, claiming that the UFC isn’t for sale. Details then emerged that the trio could be looking to sell a portion of the promotion while retaining majority ownership. The report also indicated that the move would be in order to make a move into the Chinese MMA market.

At UFC 199 earlier this month, Michael Bisping shocked the world as he knocked out Luke Rockhold in the very first round of their middleweight title fight. Bisping stepped in on short notice for former middleweight champion Chris Weidman, who injured his neck just two weeks before the fight. On the same card, MMA legend Dan Henderson fought, and defeated, former Olympian Hector Lombard via vicious KO. Given that both Bisping and Henderson were victorious on the card, many began calling for a second fight between the two.

UFC welterweight Tim means was just given a six-month suspension after coming to an agreement with the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) after they determined that one of Means’ supplements was, in fact, tainted.

Muay Thai champion opens up on controversial sparring session with Sage Northcutt

Sage Northcutt is currently coming off the first loss of his professional career at the hands of Bryan Barberena earlier this year. Northcutt is also currently in the process of preparing for his UFC 200 fight against Enrique Marin on July 9th. Ahead of his UFC 200 fight against Marin, Northcutt went to train with Muay Thai champion Ilya Grad at Gracie Barra for some sparring. What transpired was considered “a disaster” by Grad due to the actions of Northcutt’s father.
