UPDATE: UFC sale reportedly “definitely progressing”

There has been much speculation as to whether or not Dana White and the Fertittas will sell the UFC. While initial reports stated that the trio were extremely close to finalizing a sale, UFC President Dana White then refuted the reports, claiming that the UFC isn’t for sale.

Details then emerged that the trio could be looking to sell a portion of the promotion while retaining majority ownership. The report also indicated that the move would be in order to make a move into the Chinese MMA market.

Now, Ariel Helwani has published a report in which he reveals that the UFC sale is definitely progressing.

UFC sale definitely progressing. Terms unclear at the moment, but lots of talk from very reliable sources today. Not 100% done, though.

It is important to note that Helwani’s Tweet does stat that the terms of the sale are unclear, which could very well mean that the Fertittas and White will retain majority ownership as previously reported.
