Hendricks is coming off the first KO/TKO loss of his career at the hands of #1 contender Stephen Thompson, who finished Hendricks with a beautiful display of kicks. Gastelum on the other hand is coming off a split decision loss to Neil Magny in his return to welterweight.

After Michael Chiesa withdrew from his July 13th scrap against #3 ranked lightweight Tony Ferguson, there was much speculation as to who the UFC would select as a fill-in opponent for ‘El Cucuy’ on such short notice. While many hoped #1 ranked Khabib Nurmagomedov would step up, ‘The Eagle’ is currently on the sidelines while celebrating Ramadan. Tuesday afternoon, Sherdog revealed that Ferguson would be facing 8-0 UFC newcomer Landon Vannata, who trains at the Jackson-Wink MMA Academy.

Northcutt lost the bout, being submitted via Von Flue Choke in the 2nd round, putting an end to his undefeated streak. Now, ahead of his UFC 200 fight against Enrique Marin in less than two weeks, Northcutt believes that his loss to Barberena was merely a fluke.

The NSAC ultimately rejected Team Jones’ proposal, and moved forward with ‘Big’ John McCarthy being the referee for the bout.

While Condit is going into the bout after a loss, Maia will enter the contest on a 5-fight win streak that saw him most recently submit Matt Brown at UFC 198 in Brazil.

Suloev, who trained alongside Fedor Emelianenko, fought professionally from 1999-2008, amassing a record of 24-7 throughout the course of a fight career that saw him fight in Pride FC, the UFC, M-1, and numerous other promotions.
