CM Punk’s signing with the UFC has been controversial ever since it was announced back at UFC 182, and much of the talk this week has revolved around the former WWE superstar’s Octagon debut this Saturday. UFC President Dana White has been adamant in defending the match-up between Punk and Mickey Gall, the 24-year-old New Jersey native who earned the fight with CM Punk following his 45-second destruction of Mike Jackson in February.

Several episodes of the series ran on YouTube, and UFC Fight Pass, bringing fans some pretty epic content. With just days to go until UFC 203, where 2-0 amateur MMA fighter Mickey Gall will welcome former WWE superstar CM Punk to the Octagon, a photo of Gall with stitches above his eyebrow had the MMA community in a frenzy. Despite the photos of Gall with stitches in his eyebrow, the fight proceeded as planned. Wednesday afternoon, following his ‘UFC 203 open workout’, Mickey Gall addressed media members for a media scrum. It didn’t take long for Gall to be questioned about the stitches in his eyebrow.

This Saturday, MMA veteran Urijah Faber will step into the Octagon to fight Jimmie Rivera on the main card of UFC 203 in Cleveland. The fight will be Faber’s first since his lopsided unanimous decision loss at the hands of bantamweight kingpin Dominick Cruz earlier this year at UFC 199. Following the loss, Faber was noncommittal about taking another fight, however it wasn’t long before ‘The California Kid’ signed on to fight #12 ranked Jimmie Rivera, who is on an 18-fight win streak, and has gone 3-0 in the UFC.

In this incident, McCall’s opponent, Ray Borg, has been pulled from Saturday’s UFC 203 event due to an illness according to Fox Sports. This marks the second time in a row that McCall has been left without an opponent with just days to go until fight night.
