With just days to go until former WWE champion CM Punk makes his highly anticipated MMA debut at UFC 205 against Mickey Gall, the hype surrounding Punk’s debut continues to grow.
Leading up to the fight, fans got an inside look at the 37-year-old Chicago native’s journey through ‘The Evolution of Punk’ series on FS1, as he prepared for what many believe to be the toughest task of his sports career.
Punk was criticized by many viewers throughout the course of the mini-docu series as footage of Punk sparring began working its way into the episodes.
Despite that, Punk’s teammates at Roufusport in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, have expressed their support for Punk, with former UFC lightweight champion Anthony Pettis explaining that he believes Punk will shock a lot of people when he steps into the Octagon.
In the video above you can see Punk during his UFC 203 open workout prior to his fight Saturday night. Punk has maintained that his grappling is one of his best attributes, and has been working on his wrestling quite a bit towards the end of his camp.
In the open workout footage above, you can see more of Punk’s grappling abilities as he appears to exclusively work on his grappling in front of fans and media members.
