It looks like Rousey has brought in 2016 U.S. Olympic boxer Mikaela Mayer to get some sparring done. A serial conman has faked having a friendship with current UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor to exploit a woman out of €1,500. A young Irish woman named Lauren Caffrey-Byrne, who resides in Dublin, made waves Saturday morning after posting the following story on her Facebook page.

Earlier this year, former UFC interim heavyweight champion Shane Carwin announced that, after a long hiatus from MMA, he was ready to return to the cage. Shortly thereafter, the big man announced that, despite his status as a former top-5 heavyweight, this return would not occur in the UFC. If Carwin’s return wasn’t going to occur in the UFC, it seemed likely that he would end up in Bellator, as the organization has signed several similar high-profile free agents over the last few months. As it turns out, however, Carwin might not be destined for the Bellator cage after all. In fact, he may not even return to the cage.

GSP would of course go on to not just avenge the Hughes loss (two times over), he also went on to become the most dominant 170 pound fighter in UFC history.
