Earlier today the UFC officially announced that current UFC bantamweight champion Dominick Cruz would be defending his title in the co-main event of UFC 207 against surging division contender Cody Garbrandt.
Shortly following the announcement, “No Love” took to Twitter where he sent out the following bold message.
“About to put Cruz behind that @foxsports desk for good!! #RetirementFight #AndNew”
Prior to Cody’s tweet, “The Dominator” had taken a small jab at the soon to be title challenger with the following tweet.

Dominick Cruz was most recently seen in action at June’s UFC 199 event in Los Angeles where he earned a unanimous decision victory over bitter rival Urijah Faber.
Prior to his victory over Faber, Cruz was coming off a title-earning split-decision victory over former division champion T.J. Dillashaw this past January in Boston.
Meanwhile, Cody Garbrandt (10-0 MMA) was last seen in action at August’s UFC 202 event in Las Vegas, where he earned a first-round knockout victory over Takeya Mizugaki. The win marked Cody’s third-straight knockout victory in a row, as “No Love” had previously disposed of Thomas Almeida and Augusto Mendes via first-round finishes.
UFC 207 takes place December 30 live from T-Mobile arena in Las Vegas. The event is headlined by a women’s bantamweight championship fighting featuring current title holder Amanda Nunes taking on former champion Ronda Rousey.
