Last week, video of UFC President Dana White’s son’s 16th birthday party surfaced on the World Wide Web, and it looked like it was absolutely wild. Young Aidan White’s sweet 16, which went down at Drai’s Night Club in Las Vegas, featured performances from ASAP Rocky, Migos, Everlast and DJ Carnage. The UFC President’s kid was also gifted a customized Land Rover Defender.

Former UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones and former UFC lightweight and featherweight champion Conor McGregor are two of the greatest fighters in UFC history. Unfortunately, the two MMA superstars seem to have a difficult time staying out of trouble outside the cage. In a recent interview with MMA Fighting, Anderson Silva, who is another one of the UFC’s best ever, shared his opinions on Jones and McGregor’s troubles outside the cage. Silva, who has admittedly seen his share of controversy of late, started with Jones.

When Anthony Smith knocked out former champion Mauricio “Shogun” Rua in the main event of UFC Hamburg on Sunday, he established himself as one of the top contenders in the UFC light heavyweight division. Unfortunately, he feels the division is a bit of a disaster at present. Really, it’s easy to understand where Smith is coming from with these comments.
Max Holloway's team denies rumors that he suffered a stroke before UFC 226

UFC featherweight champion Max Holloway was supposed to defend his title against Brian Ortega at UFC 226. Unfortunately, this plan was derailed when he was forced out of the fight with health problems. Initial reports on Holloway’s withdrawal stated that he was dealing with “concussion-like symptoms” during fight week. Since then, however, rumors have surfaced suggesting that the featherweight champ suffered some kind of stroke ahead of the fight.

On Sunday afternoon, on the main card of UFC Hamburg, heavyweight veteran Stefan Struve returned to the cage for a fight with dangerous Polish contender Marcin Tybura. Struve was not without his moments in this fight, landing some nice leg kicks throughout, and wobbling his foe on one occasion. Unfortunately, he also succumbed to a number of cleverly timed takedowns, which caused the judges to score the fight unanimously for Tybura.

On Sunday afternoon, Anthony Smith dispatched of another MMA legend, clubbing former UFC light heavyweight champion Mauricio “Shogun” Rua with first-round strikes in the UFC Hamburg main event. In the wake of this incredible knockout, Smith could have called out pretty much anybody, from Corey Anderson, who won in the UFC Hamburg co-main event, to Jimi Manuwa, who sat cage-side for the card. Instead of calling out either of these men, however, he targeted a showdown with top light heavyweight contender Alexander Gustafsson, who he said he was willing to fight on two weeks notice at UFC 227 on August 4.

On Sunday night, in the main event of UFC Hamburg, former UFC light heavyweight champion Mauricio Shogun Rua returned to the cage opposite Anthony Smith, a fresh new light heavyweight contender who stepped in to replace Volkan Oezdemir on short notice. The stakes were high in this fight, as Shogun sought to extend his win-streak to four-straight, and very possibly earn himself a title fight against reigning UFC light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier. Unfortunately, the fight did not go as planned for the Brazilian MMA legend. Early in the first round, Smith unleashed a barrage of punches and elbows that left Shogun completely unconcious, propped upright against the cage like a broom in a closet.

On Sunday afternoon, in the main event of UFC Hamburg, former middleweight contender Anthony Smith took his second fight in the UFC light heavyweight division. This fight, which followed a first-round slaughter of former champ Rashad Evans in June, saw him step in to replace Volkan Oezdemir against another former champ in Mauricio “Shogun” Rua. For fans of the legendary Shogun, this one was not pretty. For fans of the surging Anthony Smith, it couldn’t have been more beautiful.

His adversary in this high stakes challenge was fearsome contender Anthony Smith, who stepped in to replace Volkan Oezdemir on short notice. To say Anthony Smith rose to the occasion would be a mammoth understatement.

The UFC Hamburg co-main event occurred in the light heavyweight division, where former title challenger Glover Teixeira looked to extend his streak to two-straight against Corey Anderson, who replaced the injured Ilir Latifi on short-notice. As expected, the wrestler Anderson sought to ground the knockout puncher Teixeira early in this fight. The American was able to succeed on a number of takedowns in the first round, though Teixeira was able to return to his feet each time. Anderson’s final takedown of the round nearly ended in disaster, as he dove in into a deep guillotine choke, and might not have survived had the round not ended.

The fourth bout of the UFC Hamburg main card occurred in the middleweight division, where Brazilian striker Vitor Miranda collided with Moroccan-German World Series of Fighting veteran Abu Azaitar. The German fighter began this contest with extreme aggression, wading in repeatedly with huge punches, as the crowd chanted his name. Miranda, meanwhile, seemed content to hang back and assess his foe’s timing. Eventually, Miranda succeeded on a takedown, which he used to rack up a bit of control time. As the round wore down, however, Azaitar exploded back to his feet, where he unleashed a meteor shower of looping punches until the horn sounded.

The second bout of the UFC Hamburg main card occurred in the welterweight division, where England’s Danny “Hot Chocolate” Roberts collided with Germany’s David Zawada, who stepped in to replaced the injured Alan Jouban on short notice. It was an extremely fun fight that, contrary to Roberts’ boxing skill, occurred almost entirely on the mat.

The first bout of the UFC Hamburg main card, which aired on Fox Sports 1 on Sunday afternoon, occurred in the lightweight division, where England’s Marc Diakiese collided with Hamburg, Germany’s own Nasrat Haqparast. Round one unfurled entirely on the feet, where Haqparast worked to navigate Diakiese’s significant reach advantage. Though he was able to land some nice shots in close, he also absorbed some punishing offense from Diakiese.
